It depends if we really wanted him, or would sign him if he was cheap. Solihull may have really wanted him and we didn’t hence our offer reflected that.

Correct, said he would love to but it wasn’t happening, so was not expecting him to. Plus others were moaning we ‘only’ sign ex players! Now we don’t sign one and the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction

Have a feeling that MoroccoMole might have been subject to what is known in the espionage business as a ‘Canary Trap’.
False information was provided through a certain route to determine if it had a tendency to leak, and hey presto, up it pops on the wires. Now they know who is feeding the Mole.
Westie on the other hand just seems to have sight of the tweets programmed for the next day; so I doubt we really have any true informers in our midst.
Not wishing to put myself forward as a sooth-sayer (sp?) but my prediction that dealings would drag on to the wire because of how clubs tend to operate is looking pretty solid. IMO it’ll all happen in the w/c 26/8, but admittedly that is not based on any inside info, just based on a suspicion of that we are low-payers (in transfer fees, loan fees and wages) and players/clubs are more likely to hold out for better deals.

I get the point but I hope that isn’t the case.
Doesn’t really fit in with the all new super recruitment, focusing in on what we really need. More we will sign him if he’s cheap enough, which we have seen plenty of over the years.

Is it just me that really dislikes this whole generation of transfer/news getting leaked early?
I know that fans are eager and desperate to hear about any prospective signings and can appreciate the intel from WJ and MM, but I would quite happily go back to an era where every form and source of breaking news can be experienced directly when the club announces it.
That element of excitement, surprise and shock is completely lost when these leaks get announced prematurely.
Although I must admit that this whole WJ and MM rivalry has been quite entertaining over the last week or so.
