The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread 2024 II

I think we’re done. Squad looks good. Taylor and McEntee can fill in for midfield if we need.

Thought this was going to be a boring deadline day for us with our work done, and to be fair I probably wouldn’t add anyone, but that tweet seems like we’ll be bringing someone in.
Hopefully not Sawyers just because I don’t think he fits and I don’t want us to change things to suit him, and I don’t think we would, Sadler doesn’t seem that type of manager.

Not sure we need another striker now. One more attack minded midfielder would be good though

I would look at an extra attacking midfielder and/or maybe defensive cover. First time in years, where we seem to have built a well-balanced squad. The two loan forwards (although I was anti-loan) appear to have more quality than we could buy.

Totally agree with this. I’ve been screaming for years you need two players, in every position, where that is their primary position and it feels like we finally have it.

If I were to add one more, it would be another right wing back so Adomah can be that attacking midfielder we might need to unlock defences, rather than bringing one in, but I feel the likelihood is that it will be a midfielder (if it happens, feels lovely to be not arsed if we make a deadline day signing for once too).

I do think we have the makings of a very good team, my slight concern is teams setup like Tranmere and we have to have/find other ways to break them down/score. A mercurial talent who might not work as hard as others would be the luxury player I’d like to see come in, but it is a wish and perhaps being a little greedy.

I’d agree but the issue wasn’t breaking them down more of bad luck and poor finishing and a scuffed penalty not forgetting a shocking ref.

Luck is a bonus, not something to be relied upon, and shocking referees are ten a penny in this league hence why it would be the something different to create a spark that we control :+1:t2:

Would love Sawyers, but I can’t believe for one moment that we could afford him.

Midfielder George Hall from Birmingham set to sign on loan.

Looks like a done deal, cover for RWB?

It is. He’s actually trained with Walsall this morning. They’re understandably delighted.

Started a good number of games in the Championship, great prospect!

Ball winning attacking midfielder that can play as a 6 or an 8

This time last year Liverpool were after him, then he picked up an injury

Blues rate him extremely highly

Lovely stuff!

Very happy with our squad, seems light years away from signing the likes of Cashman and that lad that got done for drink driving!

From my father in law a blues fan. “One of the best prospects at the club. Would be first team without injuries. Will dominate league 2 IF he can stay fit”

“On his day, the midfielder is levels above League Two, so he’s an exciting addition for the #Saddlers.”

If true this means walsall are going all out for promotion this season this is the best squad we have had in years and I can see us easily getting into playoffs or promotion

Barring any last minute unforseen exits this is definitely the best squad we’ve had at this level, and it’s great to see us utilising local clubs too.

Over to Sadler and co now to get the best out of them!
