We scored 69 goals - 31 of them scored by Hutchinson, Draper or Faal.

We’ll need to replace those goals if we’re going to hit similar numbers next season.

Also without checking I’d imagine that isn’t the case for goals from open play. Nothing wrong with goals from set pieces but the stat isn’t indicative of an improvement in our attacking play.

Also comparing anything against our recent history should show an improvement, we would be in some trouble if it got worse.

We definitely need more goals adding to our squad, seeing as 3 of the players who scored the most goals for us last season are no longer with us.

A few posters have made the point we’ve conceded more goals than last season and used this as evidence we have regressed. I would counter with the following There were 1645 goals scored in league 2 this season compared to 1294 last season, so looks like strike forces were better this season. If DJ goes we will need 3 forwards, the consequence of re-signing Matt and his inability to play full games and back to back games regularly means I am fairly certain we will go into the season with 5 forwards in our squad (unless we have a recall option on Doug Taylor?)

Can you point me to where I said we deserve credit please?

Why there’s an incessant need to be negative about Walsalls goal scoring prospects when it was much improved last season is just weird.
