The treatment table

Pleased about Earing although his injury record worries me i really like him as a player

With the enforced break, can we assume that, with the exception of Farquharson and Gordon, we will be full strength for the next game?

Can someone tell the lads to be careful, we need to avoid these sorts of injuries, best left to the professionals:

An update from the Express & Star and it isn’t behind a pay wall.

In summary.
Josh Gordon and Farq are out until January.

Dylan Thomas is out with a shoulder injury sustained whilst on loan at Bromsgrove. No time frame given for his recovery.

Looks like everyone else (including McEntee) is available.

I think a fully fit squad makes the bench a really tough call.

For me, Harry Williams and Taylor Allen are undroppable on current form, but at least one of Dave, Oisin, Donervan are out of the match day squad.

I also wonder whether there is room for both DJ and Cleary (I expect one to go in January).

Nobody’s fault but RAM is unlikely to be in many squads until injuries and suspensions emerge.

My biggest disappointment so far has been George Hall though. I’d be amazed if he makes a match day squad for league games. I appreciate that he’s returning from serious injury but he’s been a passenger since joining.

He got just a few minutes today and scored again, I say we keep him. Cleary hasn’t had much of a look in either yet but he isn’t our player anyway.

He also only got a handful of minutes today but did well to give DJ his chance to score.

I take credit for that @RedandWhite !

Seriously though, I’m delighted for both DJ and George Hall having such great cameo appearances today.

I do hope that Cleary and RAM get a chance but right now, it may be tricky to get an opportunity for a run of games.

We have lots of games coming up. We will need our big squad to keep them refreshed.

Really hope hall comes good. On paper he should do

It’s a long season. I can see both DJ and Hall playing a big part, especially next year, as 1/ people get injured,2/ people get tired, and possibly most importantly 3/ opposition managers work you out ,and you have to try something different. They are both something different.

Selecting a squad for a game at the moment is like going to a buffet made up of all your favourite foods and only being allowed to select a certain number of items, when the treatment table clears will be like them bringing a couple of extra plates out with something different to tempt you out on them.

Injury update in the Express and Star.
Not going to link, because its behind a paywall, annoying pop up ads…

Comley has had an operation on his cheekbone, could be back in 2 to 3 weeks, but will have to wear a protective mask.

Jellis is “close” to a return, could be in contention this weekend.

Nothing new on Gordon and Farquarson.
I read a couple of weeks ago that PF had had a setback.
JG is presumably still due back next month.

Unfortunately, the treatment table feels like it’s got busier recently.

By my reckoning and expert medical prognosis it currently looks like this:

George Hall - hamstring. Back at Blues maybe back here in March
Priestly Farquerharson - thigh surgery - back March
Josh Gordon - hamstring - back February
Brandon Comley - bost jaw - back early January
Jack Earing - ankle - unknown

On top of these, I think Jellis might have an issue too. Midfield definitely the worry here.

Ronan Maher can be added to the list I think.

Last I heard on Gordon was that he would be back mid January and also that Comley would be available for selection over Christmas having had his mask fitted . I would expect to see them in the Vertue game at least.

Even if you’re correct, we look distinctly short in some areas.
If we’re still undefeated after Notts and Cheltenham, the club has a bit of time during January to reassess.
There’s still loads of issues though, like what happens to Cleary and will DJ stay?
It’s exciting though, whatever happens!
UTS!

Think DJ might go to be replaced by Freddy Danny doesn’t seem to fit into Sadlers plans so better for him to go elsewhere and come back to haunt us as he surely will.

Jack Earing out until April after having surgery on his ankle
George Hall out for a similar period after having an operation on his hamstring

Need to get a midfielder in soon then…only Comley as cover unless McEntee is considered to be able to do the job on a permanent basis but he may be needed to cover the CB positions.
