used spit his pap out if things didn’t go for him.
Apparently Leicester have until Wednesday (15th January) to recall Tom Cannon from Stoke, which i think was the same time that Johnson got recalled two years ago. Pretty sure that’s the cut off point for recalls on loan players.
So i wonder if the same applies for Lowe?
Sadler did say in one of his recent interviews that there is an agreed recall deadline, though he didn’t elaborate further than that.
I can’t find anything beyond a player can only be recalled during the open transfer windows, unless it is a goalkeepers as I believe there are exceptions. Therefore it will go right up to the last day of the window.
There is a 1 week window in the middle of January where clubs can recall players who are on a season long loan. Usually its around 15th/16th January for that 7 day period onwards. That’s why we will know one way or another i would have thought by by this time next week. MK Dons might by Lowe’s last game for us
How did Louie Barry get recalled on the 1st of Jan then?
Also, interesting to hear that Simkin has turned down a long contract extension at Stoke. A lot of Premier League Clubs are already after him as they see him as such a talent for the future. Never know, if he does leave Stoke in the summer he might be back here on loan in Lge 1
Whatever happens with Lowe or Simkin, I’m not worried because we now have owners who will have planned for every eventuality and will no doubt have a list of candidates to replace both players.
Depends what’s stated in the loan deal arrangement between clubs. I can only assume that Villa called him back early to avoid him getting injured. They must have him pencilled in for either another loan move to a Championship side or a permanent move more likely. Both Leeds and Sunderland are after his signature.
Just means he cant play for another club on loan before a certain date
I had a quick look over FA rules and they only refer to the ability to recall from a long-term loan during a transfer window (not referring to a specific time period within that window). There is something in the rules stipulating a 14 day gap required between the registration with one club and the commencement of a registration with another club. This could tie into those dates you mention if clubs wish to recall loan players and send them out on loan again.
The FA handbook is 768 pages long mind so it could be in there somewhere
Don’t think there is, pretty sure it’s any time within the transfer window - for instance Draper was recalled on the 5th of Jan last year.
“Gillette the best a man can get”
You should fall on your sword for that…
We’ll know soon enough moley
Wasn’t DJ’s recall on the 15th a specific earliest date (to cut short) set on the loan agreement we had with Mansfield rather than an EFL/FA regulation?
PS Draper and Bennett both went earlier than the 15th.
DJ was on a 6 month loan, wasn’t recalled.
True. Was it 6 months’ loan with an option to extend to full season or purchase (which their knobhead chairman reneged on)?
Lowe has been recalled by Stoke!
Extract from website saying they have been preparing for his departure if did it happen.
Our recruitment team have been preparing for all eventualities ahead of, and during the window, and we will work through our options immediately.
I would have hoped these were already in progress.
