One or two getting a bit carried away, methinks
Poundsandpoundsandpoundsland Walsall?
Ohhh, and you were doing so well.
There is hope with this takeover and we should be cautiously optimistic. We have known many false dawnsā¦Like others I want to see investment that will maximise our potential as a club to grow; investment in youth, investment in the fabric of the club to re-boot the conference and entertainment side of the club, attracting advertising and attracting former and new supporters.
If we get this right I believe success on the pitch will follow. What I donāt want to see is the club going bust trying to live the dream.
I am pleased that Leigh Pomlett is staying on and that Trivela only have a 51% shareholding. This seems more of a partnership between the old and the new rather than a Ramsdenesque takeover.
I think this protects the club and the supporters and we can then see where it takes us⦠It will also help the Americans acclimatise to our idiosyncratic culture. Leigh can explain that references to Fags and Faggots isnāt homophobic, that āeez gorra goo Franksyā is an expression of dissatisfaction and that āBostinā isnāt a city in Massachusetts but an expression of great satisfaction.
Thereās nothing at this point to suggest Trivela will go around splashing cash, and so FFP isnāt a concern.
As Belph says, people are getting carried away.
Seems our new Chairman is actually Canadian ay.
Looks like weāll be getting cheese and gravy on those fries in the Upper Homeserve, and definitely explains what the Molson link up is aboot.
Moose be a good thing for the club, surely?
Thanks for not answering the question. I didnāt say we had to be worried about breaching FFP, nor did I say the new buyers would splash ridiculous amounts of cash.
Iām just asking if anyone knows what the ceiling would be, should we make purchases outside of the ordinary and at the higher end of the league.
Iām sure I read a few years back it was __% of our income, so I was just curious how it could potentially affect the potential paying of increased wages etc due to the wage cap.
Yow bin watchin too much southpark
Canāt believe FFP actually being mentioned on here as a genuine concern. oh happy day
Lump on!
Life is a roller coasterš¢ just gotta ride it!
Will be interesting viewing at 12pm tomorrow, can bet your bottom dollar (see what I did there?) it will not be broadcast via a Nokia3310
Lets hope the media team have got there act together and we get a high quality faultless stream for tomorrowās press conference.
Iāll watch this purchase with interest, optimism and finger crossed. The take-over and investment could be the making of the Saddlers, as it has been for some of those clubs we have sparred with over the years: Brentford and Bournemouth spring to mind.
But itās Walsall aye it! We do have a habit of these buy-out not turning out as we dreamed: Boner, Wheldon, and of course, Terry the Turkey Ramsden. If anyone can screw up, itās we.
Letās hope these people are genuine, in it for the long haul and know what they are doing. My only alarm bell that is ringing is in that post of Quantumās, I linked to. That they have seemingly hijacked someone elseās logo, seems more than a bit odd. I hope Pom has done his due diligence like he did with Fullarton
Looking from a different perspective, two people from the board resigned in a short time. Sweet company secrets, if they were against something, or other circumstances forced them out.
That sounds bonkers.
Itās the first concrete amount Iāve seen in respect of the club in decades. Otherwise the only numbers are the ones in the annual report, with everything else being confidential or undisclosed.
In the announcement on the O/S Trivela talk about " Additional resources to allow the club to execute the existing purchase option on Poundland Bescot Stadium and the surrounding property. Just wondering what the surrounding property bit means, or am I reading to much into it.
Saddlers Club
Perhaps , but is that not part of the stadium.
No, every company has some secrets that should not be made public. It was known many years ago, when someone said you donāt need to know how sausage is made.
