Trivela Group Takeover

At the bottom of the article it says

The supporters will have the opportunity to see the impact of this partnership firsthand, as the Saddlers Club will be refurbished and reopened, and the Club will execute its purchase option and be reunited with the Poundland Bescot Stadium freehold. As both Chairman and a supporter, this is a very exciting day for Walsall Football Club.”

Perhaps I am just reading to much into it.

When do we think the supporters club will be reopened?

Few months? A year? Longer?

Not that he’ll ever get to see this but I’m with…

Thanny.

If only he’d ‘unblock’ you, he could see this monumental occasion.

So my cautious optimism just took the first wavering,

It appears Jeff’s old mate Paul Taylor of PSC soccer Ltd are involved and have assisted Trivela - in what capacity I don’t know but he is intrinsically linked to JB.
Also check out #firemattjordan for a view from the fans at his last soccer club !

Be interesting to see how many of the ‘I ain’t going because of Bonser’ fans now crawl out of the woodwork. I’m picking not many.

Paul Taylor had his faults and his failures, but he also had his strengths and successes.
Personally I didn’t like him having feet in mulitiple money making camps that were mutually-facilitating. However, there can be no doubt he supported some of our best managers in innovative player recruitment on meagre budgets. I doubt he’s had much of a role in this situation other than being USA centric.

They seem to be marketing themselves on twitter as being involved and assisted in the takeover.
I know he is involved in US footy and in particular womens soccer, I just don’t understand his involvement here ?

Probably a couple of phone calls and he’s bigging it up to make his business look better.

I think there’s the clue.

I don’t think we need to do we?

It could be anything from giving Pomlett a lift from the airport to facilitating the whole shooting match.

It is what it is, Bonser is going to cream it (as ever), Bonser’s old board cronies are still doing very nicely thankyou, but in the end its where it goes from here not where it originated or was facilitated.

I will say with 90% plus degree of certainty that without change we would have become a struggling NL club at some point in the next 2-3 years, our entire future this time yesterday was intertwined with the vagueries of what may or may not occur with Michael Flynn, a manager that doesn’t seem to suffer fools who is literally surrounded by and employed by fools - hardly a recipe for anything other than teetering on, before ultimately succumbing to an overwhelming, inevitable gravitational decent into the NL.

Nobody knows what the future holds, but at least there’s a chance it won’t be the above.
And I tell you something, something I’ve said for years and notwithstanding the success we had in the 90’s and 00’s - if I could have my time over again as a Walsall fan I would rather us have gone bust and started again rather than be “saved” the Jeff Bonser way. Other clubs did it and have started from scratch and in some cases have even overtaken us.

There is no abyss where football is concerned, and if there is one why have Newport, Accrington, and Wimbledon managed greater success than us in recent years? Why have fan owned Exeter just won promotion? What ever happened to Bournemouth, Rotherham, and Luton? Ultimately football clubs GENERALLY find their level based on their support base and the amount of work that goes in behind the scenes. Injections of finance help, and conversely rank mismanagement, self-interest and imprudence wreck and hinder.

Its a football club at the end of the day, and so long as we’re here it will be here, long after the Bonsers, Whalleys and Pomletts of this world are departed. Its about time it started behaving like one, instead of a gravy train for Bonser and his cronies, and a rest home or stopping off point for the has beens and wanabees like Liddle, Guthrie, Ash Taylor, Osei Yaw, Scrimshaw, Gaffney, and so many others of similar ilk.

Hopefully this is the start, and if it isn’t we’re back to being fecked. :joy:

Yeah Paul Taylor was a Bonser stooge but unlike every other Bonser stooge he was good at his job. Signed some cracking players and even some of the bad ones gave us a laugh. By no means would I give the man a character reference but I also think lumping him im with Whalley, Mole, et al is a touch harsh.

The “$12b in capital under advisement” mentioned for Ken Polk seems to be exciting, and confusing, lots of people.
From the Arlington Family Offices website, they actually state that they have $6.4b regulatory assets under advisement - this is defined as the assets on which an advisor is providing “continuous and regular” services on a clients account - typically investment securities. It is the key number for an advisor to disclose, since it is the assets on which fees will be being earned. The rest amounts to window-dressing.
Even on this smaller amount, you may then expect fee generation to be substantial - say 0.5%-0.75% per annum, $32m-$48m.
From the little I can find on the net (private company reporting requirements in the USA are very limited), annual revenue estimates for Arlington Family Offices are estimated at $7.0-$7.5m, with 29 employees.
A step up from the bog-brush salesman perhaps, but nothing like as much as today’s frenzy suggests…

The equity raise of $2,890,000 was made by Trivela Group UK LLC during the period 20/04/22-24/05/22. There were 18 investors participating in this raise.

That’s the important bit. Trivela organised the fundraising and 18 vaguely or insanely wealthy Americans (probably - I hope there isn’t a J Bonser on the list!) have taken a very speculative punt. Let’s hope there’s a return on that investment for everybody.

Spot on!
Also raising $2.9 million over here is like “whip round”at the country club on a Friday night.

Are we on about Osadebe Tone?

For those of us who rode the Terry Ramsden rollercoaster there has to be a little bit of trepidation, but what is the other option,Gradually sinking further until we hit rock bottom…i.e. the National league?

I was there for Ramsden & also when the club seemed destined to move to Birmingham under Wheldon, also when uncle Jeff became our number 1 fan.

Bottom line is, like those that came before, we don’t know how this will pan out, but as we were destined for the National League anyhow, then may as well give this new mob a shot.

If nothing else it’s gotta be more interesting than making £50k profit a year & dropping down the pyramid, whilst we fork out ever increasing rent.

My personal opinion of skepticism for me anyway is two fold.Firstly why us? We’ve been pretty much nothing but a laughing stock for many years so I’m expecting to be one again when the finer details of this takeover come out.

Secondly the part that explains Leigh will be a part of it for 4 years to ensure a smooth transition which to be honest fills me with uneasiness and probably will for many fans.If Leigh had have made plenty of good decisions whist being chairman instead of a mock interview with Dutton or taking on Matt Taylor or even the lack of vetting of Fullerton which clearly wasn’t done properly as a simple search would have thrown up anomalies then I’d have had more faith in this deal but let’s be honest he’s sat with this lot for 12 months and then he’ll be sitting with them for 4 years but he’s too easily swayed in my opinion and history doesn’t lie so personally I have little faith in Pomletts decision making here’s hoping he’s got this one right.

Of course there will be people who will say “oh shut up let’s just enjoy being in the news” but I’m waiting for the big fat drop back to reality and the loud thuds that go with it because let’s face it we are smallsall to many people and the years of hurt leave scars so deep that they are hard to conceal and in my head anyway I’m not getting carried away I have too many war wounds following this lot to do so.
