Entirely speculative, but could they be planning to expand on this side of the Atlantic? 12 billion seems a lot, but Cazanove ,a UK wealth management company, administer £80 billion . Could the attachment to Walsall be part of a " bigger isn’t always better," " hitting above our weight " image strategy?
Where can we watch the press conference
I’ve only seen this mentioned on here, nothing from the club.
I think it was announced a few days ago, for a few minutes. Might be a thread about it on here…
No mention from the club and apparently starts in 2 hours time.
Not sure if it’s going to be live streamed on youtube, you imagine it would be. I’ve only seen Joe Edwards mention it so could be press only also

Is it in the club’s interest not to stream it, as it’d show up our incompetent media team up to an (inter)national gaze. Better to hold it and let press report it themselves.
I don’t know if we’d get top-billing at the Express & Star. I’ve heard there’s a cat struck in a tree near Whitmore Reans. More on that story as it develops.
If you look more closely they are NOT identical - the sails in the Corsair logos are joined at the bottom whereas Trivela’s are all separate. I get the punning synergy of trivela being a football related term and tri vela being cod Latin for 3 sails - it’s reminiscent of Barrow’s crest featuring a bee and an arrow. In that context a 3-sailed logo makes sense.
BTW Corsair switched to their current logo in 2015 - previously they had a slightly different take on the 3 sails concept. These things do tend to change and adapt over time so time there can sometimes be unintended congruence - although you’d think a new start up would want to to make themselves as distinctive as possible.
It’s that last bit that is more of a concern to me - a new start up with no history to back them up and also no previous involvement with rest-of-the-world football. Having worked for an American employer (and dealing with a couple of others) I can confirm that they can be as blinkered by their US-centric attitude as any little Englander still acting like we have a global empire. Will they be looking to foist the franchise model that exists across the whole of American sport onto Team Saddlers?
Good spot. Personally, I wouldn’t be happy if I were Corsair, and I’d be a bit worried if I were the designer of the Trivela logo. Could be storm in a teacup, and hope it is, but I’m not alone in finding it interesting.
Edit: The slight change in the logo still raises a question of its design, because it then implies that the designer knew it was being ‘borrowed’, and made the subtle change to distinguish it. Is this common practice in graphic design?
Maybe that’s what the Peter Clarke signing is all about - an investment to sell him on for future profit?
Titan film sounds professional so no more camera phones
What’s the latest on the cat?
