Peterborough or Northampton away. week commencing 13th Jan
Already looking forward to it, might even try and get my brother along. Not sure he’s ever been to a game in his life.
Northampton would be a nice close one for us, but parking round the ground is a nightmare. Took us almost an hour to get off the car park last time we played there.
Will need to find somewhere alternative.
I doubt it will be a sell out.
You’re probably right, was only 1200(?, if I’m remembering rightly) for Shrewsbury and 1500 or so for Reading.
Still want us to win these games but lost the little credibility the competition had once they brought in the premierships under 23s.
Only benefit I see is game time for fringe players and the only exception for me to not attend the final (should we get that far) would be if it was blues we faced at Wembley
We’ll find out who our opponents will be when they play on Tuesday night. I bet neither of them will agree to letting fans in for a tenner!
We don’t even do that ourselves, to be fair.
Perhaps but that is no small benefit. The game against Reading showed the spirit of the “reserve” players (as well as being fine entertainment) and they played with passion. The League is more important but this has value too.
It’s a tough draw, by the way.
Peterborough it is then…
I could have helped you out with that mate but unfortunately we have Peterborough!
Yeah, I’ll be watching it on the tele.
Been to Peterborough a few times in the past and not keen on a late night drive back along the A1.
Doubt i can be arsed to travel to this one from Wigan on a Tuesday night. I might start a petition to get us in Northern section
25mins up the A1 for me. I’ll be there.
At least with Peterborough there is Charters, the Oakham pub-on-a-boat, only a short walk away.
Memories of a Friday night game in a big storm there a few years back. Hope it’s better in January.
I was there that night, the peterborough players were brushing the snow off the lines during a stoppage
Think the ref was going to abandon the game, but as they were winning the Posh players joined in clearing the lines.
We have one of the biggest repertoires when it comes to songs. A few weeks back people were complaining about opposition fans only having one song but I doubt anyone will top us on that score when we sang one particular chant from kick off for the full 90 minutes pretty much non-stop against these in this competion in the late 90’s.
