W 1-0 vs Newport County (A) - League Two - Sat 6th Aug, 3pm

I will go for a Walsall 2-1 win today. It will be a tough game down there, and will be out first proper test of the season. So we should all have a good idea of where potentially this season can go. Unlike previous seasons, on paper this squad looks like goals could come from anywhere so we are going to be very difficult to beat.

Id hope for just a good performance. A win would be great but we dont want to get too ahead of ourselves. I can see something like 3 2 to us.

I cant foresee any changes in the line up either

Allowed into the rugby club house/away bar despite the ticket scanner devices not having appeared yet (or so the (stewards tell me). £5.50 for a pint of keg Sharps Atlantic in a plastic glass and all the chairs and tables stacked away so standing only! (What’s that about the Stadium Suite?) At least they’ve got the Fulham game on.

Wished I was heading to Newport today,I’m planning on attending a few more games this season and take the lad to his first away game.we are always restricted on a weekend with the clubs the kids are in😡.
Going to have to put my foot down with the Mrs I’m getting excited about this season and there’s a few people I know want to come to a few Walsall games for the first time so I will drag them along.

Same starting XI but Knowles replaces Flynn Clarke on the bench.

As expected and I fully understand why.

Looks like no Joe Edwards reporting again this weekend. I know he said he was ill but hopefully nothing too serious. He has been a breath of fresh since he took over the reporting last season. Wish him all the best and hope he is back very soon. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Great to have such strong options on the bench.

Aftet all the hoo-ha about giving us more, there’s a whole section of seats behind the goal that are fenced off. :see_no_evil:

Sprinklers are on soaking the pitch

Perfect didn’t they have a scout watching us last week?

Not L2 related, but Burton Albion are at home to Bristol Rovers today. Burton have had a man sent off after less than ONE MINUTE!

Bristol Rovers 1-0 up after 4 mins - could be a battering on the cards.

Also non-L2, but local … Villa 1-0 down at Bournemouth (3 min)

In League 2, Gillingham 1 Rochdale 0 (9 min)

Yellow card for Newport County (8 min) … foul on Allen

How have we started?

Newport have it in the net but it’s offside. A let off.
