W 2-1 vs Barnet (A) – Sat 16th Aug, 3.00pm (League Two)

Are you pissed Joaquin :joy:

No, haven’t had a drop since, the 2 330ml Coronas with my tea yesterday.
But it’s a sunny day and I’m off til next week.
Won at home, lost away and a close cup game not that shit a start to the season. As I said elsewhere, if we win Saturday then that puts us where we were after 3 last season, which is fine (6 from 9 pointswise). Might as well keep hoping. :face_with_tongue:

They ain’t won a game yet which means they will beat us it’s the Walsall way 2-0 loss on a sticky pitch

We now have a spare ticket for Saturday, Adult next to us. Please PM me if you are interested. Thanks.

We’ve got another referee on Saturday where it’ll be their first game officiating in the EFL :face_with_peeking_eye:

Has to start somewhere. We can’t moan about the standard of refs, and also moan that we get refs being given their first chance.

Weren’t the previous two we’ve had this season also newcomer officials?

Watching a few games on tele too and the standard has been very poor.

Hopefully a better one this weekend.

I’ve no idea, but as I say, that standard doesn’t improve without giving new refs chances. It’s been very poor for decades not just last weekend.

I know, just seems to be a referee making a bad call in pretty much every game so far this season, saw a few shocking ones on twitter :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The other half has got me re-decorating the 2nd en-suite on Saturday so I won’t be there unfortunately although several of our lot including Dirty Barry will be in attendance and keeping me up to date as well as a thorough post-match analysis. With the miserable weather forecast of uncomfortable/unbearable heat it’s probably a blessing I won’t be there.

I’m surprised Dirty Barry isn’t helping you with your en suite- I’ve heard he knows his way around a ballcock

How many years was Trevor Kettle a ref? … and he was still awful.

For me, squad quality is a concern for the 1st team players as well! Where is the quality in midfield or attack? Sure, Albert can do some lovely tricks on X, but can he produce it where it matters most? As for Pressley and Stuttle: lots of endeavour, little end product so far. As for Matt and Gordon - least said the better! Compare our midfield options with the likes of Chesterfield who have Dobra and Stirk - we have Jellis, Comley and Lakin, none of whom are that good on the ball!

She’s already done 5+ in the league last year. If Officiated a game with her a few years back. Shes only just transferred to Men’s football.

Thanks, realised i read the post about this weekend’s referee wrong shortly after the last post on here, read it as first EFL game but it’s first Walsall game.

Dirty Barry is helping to keep Mrs Crod’s undercroft in good order during this heatwave as even during normal times it has been a difficult place to go.

We need three points from this one, anything else will be a failure.
Our forward line needs to start scoring goals and gaining confidence, having to rely on Gordon and Matt as back ups fills me with dread.
To all of our fabulous travelers, I wish you God speed.

He’s somehow now the Chief Refereeing Officer for the Indian Football Federation:

That’s a turn up - as a ref he’s always been a cowboy.

Goodness Gracious Me
