W 2-1 vs Bristol Rovers (H) – Sat 4th Oct, 3.00pm (League Two)

I for one was glad we got rid of Daniels & Monthe, I’m really pleased they have both found some good form.looks like they have found their perfect fit,but If we were offered both of them I wouldn’t want them, too many unforced errors.

This is a terrific write up:

Promises to be a nail biting finish. Saddle up indeed!

:joy::joy::joy::joy: championship!!

How are stevenage going so well?? Considering they should have got relegated from our league

I’m glad Daniels is doing well at Oldham as I always liked him.
That being said his fitness, and then his form after he got himself fit again was one of the contributing factors to our decline last season. I’m pretty sure we didn’t sign a centre half in January as Sadler thought he’d get the good version of DD back towards the end of the season. So as much as I Iike the fella I’m also glad he’s gone.

Seem to remember a certain Kenny Hibbit appearing for Rovers against us in the early 80s ?

The weather forecast for the 24 hours from early afternoon today looks absolutely appalling, baton down the hatches and stay indoors unless you absolutely have to venture out would be my advice. If the game was an early kick off tomorrow I would say it is in grave danger but i think conditions relent from just before kick off (although this doesn’t account for the conditions spectators will be travelling in).

Stay safe folks.

If there’s any chance at all of it being called off, I’d rather they do it early before we’ve driven up.

I have never known a match called off because of high winds. The rain associated with these storms is mainly today so I think it will be on .

There was a night game, in the 70s against Gillingham I think, when the wind started taking off the roof of the main stand and the game was abandoned

I remember that well. I was there but I hope Bescot is made of sterner stuff.

DC briefly reflects on his time at Walsall and says he doesn’t expect a good reception tomorrow. I’m all for giving him a bit of stick but II just hope people don’t resort to some of the vile chants we heard whilst he was at Vale, particularly given everything he has been through:

“We’re going there to win” | Darrell Clarke ahead of Walsall return

Who was the ex Premier League player on £500 a week? Danny Guthrie maybe?

He is very complimentary about the club and our fanbase and about our current team and manager.

Clarke has always been a bit “marmite” but can’t doubt his credentials and would of liked to have seen how he would have done with our squad last season and this.

Nephew bumped into Jellis on the train yesterday, he was fit until Thursday last week and said he was ready for this week as it stood

It changes on a daily basis which is one of the issues.

Immediate thought watching that video is that he’s aged significantly, something grief tends to do to a person. I didn’t rate him as a Walsall manager but I hope he has the friendliest reception possible on Saturday. As mentioned elsewhere, the Matt Taylor win at Vale was suitably cathartic with regards to his leaving.

Yes, I wasn’t too concerned with wind, just how our pitch stands up to rain.
We’ll most likely be ok tomorrow but we are entering the time of the year when we’ve had postponements over the last few seasons.

I suppose the wind helps the drying process. I hate having games played in strong winds. They are never any good.
