Dear oh dear. In over 50 years of watching football I do not think I have have ever seen a team go in at half team goalless yet create the chances which Mansfield have done.
They missed 3 absolute sitters and then had a goal not allowed which looked clearly over the line to me.
We should be easily 4 down.
Our defence still has the approach of not marking players. The guy who ghosted into the box and hit the keepers legs was between 2 of our defenders. He was behind the Priest but why did the other defender (Allen?) not get goal side instead of just leaving him free?
The header which just went wide was because Knowles was too slow in getting back for which he should receive a massive bollocking.
Mansfield have created their chances from good football and prove that this is better than idle bland possession which we do over and over again to boost our possession stats. They also do the unattractive stuff well which is close us down ad force us to play the ball.
This is the difference between a team ready for promotion and a team which hopes for some reason to put a run together to sneak into the playoffs.
There is no way we are keeping a clean sheet in this game.
