Unfortunately the “pack the Bescot” initiative was launched just as the team reverted to being pretty rubbish as quickly as it had become pretty good.

After Friday’s massively cautious and defensive mindset, he needs to go the other way today. We need to win. To win requires goals. Let’s set up to score some and have round pegs in round holes.
Faal and Gordon’s scoring record has been really poor. If fit, it has to be Matt and DJ up top.
Come on lads, let’s just extend the hope for a few weeks more.
In some ways, the injury that has affected us most has been that of Knowles. His pace and unpredictability worry the opposition. I was one of many who thought Manny was worth a try at RWB but I was wrong - he did not get forward and did not defend well. Given our other injuries, the two options seem to be Oteh or a flat back 4 with Foulkes. The problem with those two though is that they are both relatively short.
His end product is woeful. And that’s what a lot of us, including me, have judged him by.
But the ground he covers on that flank and the pace at which he does it is a constant concern for the opposition. His defending has improved too. We definitely miss him.
But in his absence it has to be Foulkes. If you can’t get in the first team squad when there’s literally nobody else who plays in your position then you probably feel that this isn’t the place for you as the manager has a really low opinion of your ability.
Ive always been a staunch supporter of TK although ive always agreed his end product is poor he offers a lot of other things to this team that no other player can do , his injury has highlighted how valuable he is to this side and what he brings to the table and if he left we would miss him. One of the main reasons i love TK above all else is his commitment and never say die , some games he isnt good enough but he never stops giving you 110%
He really needs to knock this “not like us” on the head. Especially after another dire away performance.
Pretty sure the only away clean sheet we’ve kept is Harrogate. So conceding away goals is exactly like us. In fact if we keep a clean sheet away from home between now and the end of the season he would be more accurate in the “not like us” stuff.
Did he actually say that? I don’t watch him anymore, pointless and boring really. It was his go-to catchphrase though, like when he said it about conceding early goals, even though we had conceded more early goals than any other team in the league.
Massive game today. With the teams around us playing each other and Wimbledon away at Stockport it could bring back some much needed positivity. We’re not out of this yet, despite what people said after the 5-0 defeat. It’s close, a win today would change everything going into Tranmere who look to have dropped off again.
I find it amazing that we are still in it after the recent run of results, and couldn’t bring myself to look at the table after Friday. Just looked though and yeah we are still in with a chance. We know we are capable of putting a run of wins together, especially at home. Win today, gain some confidence and who knows?
A bumper bank holiday Bescot audience with our spectators packing behind both goals, should make for a cracking atmosphere. Sure the undercroft will be buzzing pre match. Got a good feeling about today, ideal opportunity to put Friday to bed and in true Easter fashion resurrect our play off push, it’s how Jesus himself would have wanted it.
I’d missed that Karl Robinson was manager of Salford. Would suggest they will be a possession based team (as they were before they appointed him anyway). Should be an interesting game.
Did we have some aggro with Karl Robinsons Oxford? I have some vague recollection.
There was one not so long back where it finished at about 4.50, can’t remember which game it was now but we won, cos we left the end of game celebrations to get the early train.
I’ve noticed we seem to kick off a minute or two late some games at Walsall.
I think they may be again next season but this season given their position in the league, their home ground and Matt Smith I think they will be direct……
Unfortunately I think it’s a day we really could’ve done with DD and PF being fit and I think Dave Manny and Taylor will have their work cut out….
Very important we stop the service from wide areas rather than have the problem of Smith hanging around the far post waiting for crosses to drop on his head.
