yeah fair from the bloke asking people to go through there posts from years ago Silly me keeping that convo going …
Funny old game … we would have all been really dissatisfied with a point today . And I think we just about deserved the victory with a last minute class finish from wilko which MT must be praised for as I don’t think we would have seen him unless Salford hadn’t scored with their only real chance.
Some good positives today thought we looked solid defensively with Salford scoring from there only real chance. Monthe was superb considering the extra pressure he was under from this weeks events as was rollin white and ward although I think teams are targeting him now but he stood up to it today with the help of Kieran who helped out defensively very well .
A mention for earing as well who I think is really getting to grips with the step up from Halifax and is improving with each game . And osedebe who I thought was very good and made good decisions on the ball worked very hard and was unlucky not to score from a great free kick . Hope he keeps it up and shows that consistency that we all crave . UTS
Thanny and EN.
Haven’t been on the covid thread for about two months now and haven’t missed it. Nearly 2k replies since I lasted looked so assume it’s still the same old ding dongs on there with Thanny back posting on it.
I really like how all of our forwards are contributing to goals this season compared to last season, just need to sure up at the back abit more and I don’t think we’re far off at all.
Phillips and Miller both on four goals, Wilkinson with another goal to win us a game, Kiernan and Earing have seven assists between them and this is all without Holden.
Compare that to last season and minus Adebayo, our strikers scored just three times at home in 23 games (and two if them came within 28 minutes against Vale )
It’s took a very strange turn on that thread recently
Wow some round trip that is and I’m happy that you witnessed a last minute winner how often do you come over to watch matches mate? just curious you may have said before but I haven’t seen it if you have.
Pleased that you witnessed a win for all your efforts and dedication, you thoroughly deserved it.
Is this yesterday’s match thread ?
Agreed , was thinking the same .
Phillips , Miller , Wilkinson V Gordon & Lavery .
The forward line has gone from laughably bad to pretty damn tasty .
Maybe recruitment wasn’t as bad as some said ?
My only worry is if Phillips and Miller continue to do well they would probably be recalled and sold and we would be back to square one. It would be great if we could sign them permanently.
Pre-covid maybe 3 or 4 between home and away. Have a daughter who lives in Oxford so family visits tend to coincide with home games. Another daughter now lives in London so hoping to go to Sutton away. Pre-covid it was flying and trains, but at the moment it’s the overnight ferry from Belfast to Liverpool. Wish it could be more often. There’s nothing like the euphoria of an injury time winner - those are the games you tend to remember.
Dobson vs Northampton
Leahy’s last minute and injury time double vs. Coventry.
Manny Smith v Wendy’s
Interesting when you see the distilled highlights. Kiernan and, in particular, osadebe at the heart of everything good. Rose needs to be in charge of a ball like that which is almost on the goalline.
Great result, good performance, really pleased for the manager and players and a real boost for us fans to see a winner for us in the dying moments. As someone said, those sort of wins feel so much more than a “standard” win.
Since Osadebe’s fake injury fiasco he seems to have been turning in good performances a goal against Northampton and what looked on the highlights to be a good performance against Salford yesterday so fair play to him for that just needs to keep it going he’s very up and down consistency is key.
Two goals were class. Phillips goal really impressed me. What a drive of pace.
Guilt or the kick up the arse that he needed from fans?
Toxicity rating for the fans?
Did they get what they deserved?
Kick up the arse I reckon. Genuinely. Bet his team mates gave him what for.
