Not the only one.

Saw it discussed the other day - Gary Lineker never picked a single card in his whole career; Trevor Brooking received just 1 and was not happy about it. Vinnie Jones once got booked for an over the top tackle just 5 seconds after the opening whistle. :see_no_evil_monkey:

Gary Lineker never got booked because he never tackled anyone.

Oh, joy. Oh, happiness.
Loved it.

He did get suspended by Auntie though .bad boy .

The keeper looked good.
Flint was outstanding, Weir and Browne -ok
Comley as usual- terrible. Possibly last ever start
Barrett & Hancock - good
Jellis ok
Lakin - very poor (weak link) Clarke in this position next game.
Pressley and Stuttle looked good
Warrington & Hollman- ok, too early to tell.

Lakin very poor, did you even go to the match. He was a crucial cog in the team.

You need to watch closer, opinions

Harsh on Lakin, imo thought he looked better than last season. Albeit there were a couple of instances where he took too many touches in our defensive third, but on the whole decent.

All about opinions mate - I thought Lakin played really well…

Apart from the sending off, there were no poor performances IMO

Agreed- I thought Lakin and Jellis were both outstanding with the work they got through, especially bearing in mind the heat.
There were a few slip-ups but on the whole I don’t think anyone had a bad game.

Agreed …his ratting in midfield was a key factor in keeping them out.

There wasn’t a bad performance on Saturday.

On Lakin, I do think he is a limited footballer, and I expect Hollman, when up to speed, will be on the team sheet ahead of him. However on Saturday Lakin was a perfect fit for the situation we found ourselves in.

Found this paragraph from his wikipedia page:

Flint briefly sparked a hostile relationship with fans of his former team Swindon by stating in an interview that he did not wish for them to achieve promotion. On 3 May 2015, in the final game of the 2014–15 season (during which City won the league), he scored his first ever hat-trick in an 8–2 victory over Walsall, bringing his total for the season to 15.

I guess going straight from swindon to bristol city didnt help his cause with some of their fans but i wonder if we’d ever throw a seat at liam gordon for heading off to burslem!!
Wouldn’t mind flint getting 15 goals for us this season!

Thanks for your erudite reply.
I’ll leave it there

You had an erudite post and chose to respond to it with one of your lazy, generic “play the man” responses, which didn’t deserve anything further “erudite”. Happy to engage more eruditely when there’s something more substantial that’s worth the bother :+1::+1:

No thanks :+1:

From what saw, Lakin was everywhere. Closing down midfielders and defenders, sometimes leading a press and making selfless runs to make space for others. Other than that I thought he was okay👍UTS!

One of the most crucial players in the team, 7/10 minimum every game.
