The choice of team will be interesting. Hornby might stay in goal. Will he play Flint? Who will be up front?

Long shot but I have a standing ticket for sale if anybody requires one, I won’t even charge a booking fee.

I’m assuming I can’t get some form of return/refund with the club given that we’ve not sold out?

Our family are all inventors, craftsmen, pioneering aviators (with admittedly mixed results), and all-round smartarses. After an evening of thorough, informed discussion raising point and counter point, fact and anti-fact, I can promulgate the following prediction.

Bore draw. Scrape through on penalties.

Use to have a Spitfire flew it on occasions :flushed_face:round a bend to fast rear suspension a nightmare wheels used to tuck under .approach with care Saddlers or could be end of FA cup road .

The thing about playing on Sunday is that we have s free Saturday. What’s everyone up to?

Below post with some useful hints and tips to get the most out of the big day on Sunday for travelling members of the away gate.

Silverlake Stadium

Silverlake Stadium has undergone some major changes over the past 15 years, with several new erections and other developments on three sides of the stadium. Although two of these stands, on the East side and South End may be of a semi-permanent nature in construction, they have very much improved the overall look of the ground, giving it an easy on the eye, pleasant quality.

On the West Side of the stadium is the Main Stand. During 2017, this stand which originally was a small, raised covered seated stand that sat astride the halfway line, has been extended down towards the Mackoy Community (South) Stand, more or less trebling its original size, having a capacity of 1,170 covered seats. Comprising of mostly eight rows of seats, the seating areas are raised above pitch level, meaning that supporters need to climb a small staircase to reach them. The stand is also cantilevered, meaning that there are no supporting pillars, so supporters can enjoy generous unobstructed views of the playing action. The stand also incorporates a small press box/area for the stadium announcer. On the other side of the Main Stand towards the Clubhouse End is an open flat standing area. The team dugouts are located in front of this stand.

On the East side is a covered terrace that was purchased from Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club and transported to the Silverlake Stadium in 2014 to much fanfare and jubilation. Although only a few steps high, it is covered and has a capacity of 1,250. At the opposite Clubhouse End, a new tall club building has been built behind a small terrace, which overlooks the ground and terrace below. Looking somewhat out of place at a football ground and has something of a vulgar look, it is used to how the club offices and has facilities for corporate clients. The terrace runs for around a third of the width of the pitch and is located directly behind the goal. Although it does have some supporting pillars along its front it is an improvement on what was originally an open area. In the North East corner of the stadium, there is a fair sized electronic scoreboard, the envy of many non league clubs. The stadium has a set of four modern floodlights.

Visiting Audience

Members of the away audience are mostly housed on the East side of the Mackoy Community (South) Stand at one end of the stadium. This all seated stand is covered and is of a good size, having a capacity of over 2,000, although the normal number of seats made available to visiting fans is around 500. The stand is quite tall and so you generally get a quite superb view of the playing action, however it does have a couple of large supporting pillars at the front of it, that could get the way of your sightlines.

In addition, away fans are given a portion of the covered East terrace (towards the South Stand) so visiting supporters have a choice of standing or sitting. There is normally a good atmosphere generated inside the ground, welcoming but partisan at thew same time. Food on offer inside the stadium includes; a range of burgers (ham, beef, cheese and vegetable) £4.65, hot dogs £4.45 and chips £3.75. A generous selection of drinks such as bottled water and squash are also available.

Away fans are not allowed to freely move around the stadium to access other home facilities such as their toilets for high profile games.

Eastleigh Chants

Eastleigh spectators are renowned for the atmosphere they generate and noise and range of their chants, some you are likely to hear include:

We love Eastleigh

Eastleigh ‘till I die

Hi Ho Silver-lake Lining

We all ******* despise Havant, and Waterlooville are a bunch of c****

Pubs near the Arena

There is a bar at the ground called the Hangar, which welcomes both home and well behaved away spectastors. Nearby pubs include:

Cricketers Arms (232 Chestnut Ave, North Stoneham, Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh SO53 3HN)

Hugely popular white picket-fenced pub with a typical British decorative theme and a menu of pubby classics, good amenities including a cash bar facility.

The Spitfire (18-20 High St, Eastleigh SO50 5LD)

Open plan pub with a long bar surrounded by stone flooring, some sports broadcast on the TV or on the wireless dependent on the event.

Weather

Highs of 13 celsius and sunny intervals on Sunday, advice would be to take a hat and a light jacket.

Tough game Eastleigh will have the majority of posession and be the more technical team while we will be more athletic .

Tough match up

Yes, it will be tough and I have no confidence in this team - it lacks quality in key areas. We need more than a bunch of triers who run around a lot, we are weaker than we were this time last season, especially upfront where the cupboard is pretty bare. We must have had around £300k from the playoffs and around £400k in transfer fees plus we lost our two biggest earners in DJ and DD - where has all that money gone? We need at least 3 quality players to stay in the playoff hunt.

It’s been shared with our Irish and Danish brothers

To Trivela investors, they couldn’t care a shiny shite for the footy clubs they have ‘invested in’ other than to make ‘returns’ on their clients investments, these monies will have been slyly syphoned away as ‘dividends’ to prove that Trivela’s ideas of taking on European football clubs is more than investing in ‘futures’ of Real Estate.

I have gone for a defeat, Eastleigh will be relishing home advantage over a ‘struggling for form’ 4th Division team. Truly hope I’m wrong, would be an embarrassment on one of our rare appearance on terrestrial tele! We have to go at them from the start, no mercy, and start scoring some bloomin goals…….

Eastleigh will be fancying their chances in this encounter that’s for sure.

Goes without saying we need to strengthen up front but Sawyers is exactly the type of player we could also do with his vision and ability to thread balls through

We can name 9 subs for this. I’m guessing Warrington is out so 17 of the 18 from last week - plus 3 more out of Cox, Harper (injured?), Burke (injured?), Richards, Hollman (injured?), some of the kids who played on Tuesday.

The FA ‘Each of the clubs involved in the ties selected for live television broadcast will receive a £50,000 fee in addition to guaranteed payments from the competition’s prize fund* for winning or losing.’

*£47,500 for Round 1 winners

Prize fund - The Emirates FA Cup 2025-26 - Competitions

The accounts for last year will be out soon. I doubt any dividends will be paid.
