W 3-0 vs Morecambe (H) - League Two - Tue 20th Feb, 7:45pm

I went to that one too. Scived the afternoon off school to go. I think they stuffed us 5-0 or something like that when it was actually played.

Cambridge away on a Tuesday night early nineties, we pulled up outside the ground in the coach, just as the game was called off.

That’s an absolutely disgraceful and embarrassing decision if that’s the reason for cancelling a game that has now knackered up fans from both teams especially the travelling fans who would have almost 100% have been here by now.The games gone soft it really has and from those pictures it doesn’t look dangerous to me at all.Everyone is for player safety no matter what side of the fence you sit on when it comes to how the game has changed over the years, but that video doesn’t suggest to me and I’m guessing to anyone else that that game should have been abandoned.

TBF ,Cook was told not to make any sudden movements in case he drowned everyone.

The ball rolled through the mud and it bounced.

Ref can easily ask both managers. Both managers happy. Get on with it.

Ref is probably a prick

I’ve just caught a glimpse of the corner of the pitch in the game at Bristol Rovers and it’s an absolute swimming pool but they are all playing on it.What happened to a good old slick pitch with plenty of tackles going in.Wasn’t that what most players loved playing in?

Perhaps he postponed because the water would have slowed him down

Cambridge match paused after 8 minutes, reassessing the pitch due to further rain.

Maybe they should get the stewards to brush it off?

not sure they should hold out much hope

1966, heading for Leyton Orient, we got to the end of the M1 to hear the game had been rained off. A quick look at the fixture list and we asked supporters club coach driver to head for Fulham instead to see them and Allan Clarke play Southampton. Fifty odd of us behind the goal (with Walsall banner) met with some bemusement.

I just find it hard to believe our games been called off with how that ball was running in the penalty area. The pictures from Cambridge I absolutely get.

Nothing surprises me in football anymore mate, it looked a dodgy call but were only seeing one clip to be fair. And it would now be worse, which ive no doubt came into their thinking.

Nothing surprises me anymore I guess mucka. There’ll probably be an official club picture of a diving board in the other goal mouth in a minute to make me questioning it look very silly
