A narrow win is my forecast. They have some good experienced players so another 1-0 will do.

Top preview again Steve.

The referee appointed for the visit of Tranmere Rovers is Edward Duckworth from Lancashire. Another well established EFL official and he has officiated us a few times over the last few years with some quite spectacular scorelines in each game. Our 4-0 defeat away to Sutton Utd back in October 2023. Our 6-1 away win at Grimsby in January 2024. Our 5-0 away loss at MK Dons in March 2024 and our 3-2 home win against Huddersfield Town in the second round of the Leauge Cup in August 2024. So will we see another proverbial goal fest with Mr Duckworth in charge. Lets see how this one goes.

The Mekon. A slap-head superstar.

Oh ok. I got that wrong.

(Colin Methven, twas Wigan he came from). But he was the sort of player who could have played for Tranny.

John Manning for you oldies

Apart from Grimsby we’ve been very good at home so far.

I believe we’re going to keep the run going with another narrow win.

This game has got 1-1 written all over it, so 2-0 to the Super Soar-away Saddlers…..

1-0 kanu Att 5775

4-0 to the Super Saddlers at a raucous Pallet-Track.

Can’t see anything other than a comprehensive and thoroughly enjoyable romp.

I don’t think Sadler will make many changes, probably Lakin for either Clarke or Finnegan. The bench will be his biggest decision.

I expect:

  • Roberts
  • Burke, Flint, Weir
  • Barrett, Finnegan, Warrington, Lakin, Harper
  • Pressley and Kanu

Subs:

  • Hornby, Adomah, Comley, Clarke,
  • 3 from Jellis, Browne, Okeke, Matt, Richards, Priestly (tough choice)

I think that’s the only thing that will change with the squad over the weeks.

First eleven seems very set now.

Comedy gold your posts always put a smile on my face

@Andy_Petterson - I promise to remember to photograph the cheese and biscuits today. I’ve put a memo on my phone as backup :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

They are likely to include Omari Patrick, a player i wish we would sign.

Certainly agree for today. But Jellis will almost certainly be in the first team from Accrington onwards. Then Finnigan will drop back.

For me Clarke is much better on his favoured right side. Although he did a great job at Fleetwood. He is ahead of RF to come on for JJ in my book.

So that leaves who to come on for Lakin if necessary. For me it’s Richards. But I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing Okoke in a more advanced role on the left.

I will always see Adomah and Matt as replacements for Kanu and Pressley. But I would love to see a 15 min overlap with Adomah on for Jellis ( before Clarke comes on) whilst K and P are still running, 55-70 mins. That would take some balls.
