Walsall Council to buy the ground

Labour all over that

Not sure about the promotion year but currently Tory controlled

:joy: top effort from a Tory council, that!

something that’s very important imo

Councils can massively help football clubs and vice versa. A successful club in the town can literally make it boom with footfall and folk spending money.

You can go down walsall town on match day and you wouldn’t even know there was a game on.

No I agree. They don’t do enough. They never have.

But this is just a sign welcoming a big team to our town. The outrage I’m seeing is ridiculous. Haven’t people got better things to moan about. Literally seeing people on facebook in absolute bits about it. It’s a bit annoying, that’s about it.

I mean Lazio is a world famous team so regardless of who they’re actually playing it’s a big event for the borough (although I get the feeling they didn’t stay at the Village off the M6).

Going back 5 years but I presume Ajax got similar acclaim when they turned up in July 2018?

Yep a very nice few hundred grand in the pocket again last night.

Walsall Council have excelled themselves in turd behaviour. I bet they do the same when the mighty Wrexham turn up

I am not bothered about this at all but I have wondered whether there has been any contact between BB and the Council. He makes a big play about investing in the Town as well as the Club. It would be interesting to know whether BB has met Mike Bird who I know has no interest in the football club which bears the name of our Town.

I’d imagine not if that is the case. A big employer and cog in the town and its Council seemingly pulling in different directions, bizzare really.

If you are correct and I guess you are then it not right. I don’t think Bird has any interest in sport generally but I suspect( I have no evidence) that the relationship with the Club was not a good one during the Bonser years. I hope BB will try to establish better relations soon as I think it would be in both parties best interests to work in partnership.

I’ve rumbled ya Walsall my arse, that suspiciously looks like the old bike factory brum .

I wonder if many of Lazio’s notoriously far-right ultras have made the trip!

I spotted some complaints about Nazi salutes that the police & stewards did nothing about.

Seems they’ve reacted to the criticism this morning.
Whether they continue is another matter…

Better!!

Always been a complaint of mine, coming from afar on a match day there is no tangible sign, no bugga cares a jot. Walsall as a town doesn’t deserve a football club.
never has, never will.
