Hopefully the players will still realise an appearance on the hallowed turf at Wembley is up for grabs here
I was thinking of that one. Nothing in it for us and had hardly won a game since Christmas but we got the win.
I think someone should let them know, they may not have thought of that…
Can we blame DJ? He missed a golden chance to score earlier which may have changed the outcome completely?
It’s a minor miracle we still have a chance considering our recent run of results, but yet we still do,
Momentum is key in football so you fancy Doncaster now but things rarely go how you expect. Just focus on winning tonight, which is pretty much the message every manager gives their players I’d imagine. It’s an outside chance but you never know.
Swindon generally have a lot of possession by the way.
So will be interesting to see what we do / given we haven’t fared well recently against MK Dons and Notts County.
Do we press or do we sit off them a bit? I think that confusion contributed to our performance Saturday.
Theres also the McKirdy factor…
I had a look Thanatos, and although you are right Swindon generally do have possession, against Notts County they only had 25%.
So I dont think their possession will be as extreme as Notts county was on Saturday. But yes, it will be interesting how we deal with them. I dont have the answer.
Of course it didnt help that we conceded a goal after 90 seconds and a man sent off. That kind of invites the other team to keep the ball. Lets hope we avoid that tonight.
Mckirdy doesnt seem to have played for a bit for them, so not expecting him to play tonight.
I was surprised how up for it Notts County were on Saturday
I’m sure if he plays he’ll get a warm welcome.
We’ve got to the point where we are relying on other teams to do us a favour, and even if they do there’s nothing saying (going by recent results) that we will step up and do our bit. I think we’ll draw tonight and that will put us all out of our misery and then the most important thing is how we prepare for next season. The first job will be to release our strikers and send back loan players then let’s see how serious Trivela are launching our promotion season…
Whilst it’s good that we still have something to play for with only 3 games left, part of me (almost) wishes that results had gone against us on Saturday. As the cliche has it, it’s the hope that kills.
I wouldn’t be so defeatist, one game at a time and all that. I didn’t really envisage us winning 6 games in a row after being hammered at home by Newport and a tepid draw at Crawley. One thing about this team is they have a good attitude and a habit of bouncing back well from disappointment and have plenty of character.
I just hope the audience get right behind the team tonight from the first whistle, there are some tired legs and we need to use home advantage to full effect in the next 4 days. If we do I am convinced a win at Wimbledon would sneak us in.
Do we think there will be any tactical/personnel changes tonight ?
Faal?
Farq?
Manny?
DJ… ?
is Priestly an option? Id assumed he was injured still.
He’s been on the bench ay he ? Last couple.
Youre right. I hadnt noticed.
Odd that he hasnt been given any minutes though.
Ill go for a 2-1 win, purely to keep us all going through the mill until Saturday at least.
Hutch and Faal.
2-1 to the saddlers. Hopefully keep us in the playoff race
Needs a clear plan. Can’t be neither here nor there tonight else they’ll pick us apart. Got a good feeling about tonight mate. Not sure why!!!
I’ve got more chance of playing than DJ
