Wembley

Agree Mucka. Might come to Accrington game in my Cardiff 2001 Beeny Hat and retro shirt. The beeny hat is a bit worse for wear. Come on me babbies. UTS

If we won the playoff final at Wembley then what went before wouldn’t matter a jot!! In some respects, this would be the best outcome as we would be promoted and with a nice cash pile for the new signings we would need in League 1. I wonder if Lowe would come back to complete his education with us, in League 1?

I agree, in that moment it wouldn’t matter at all. The joy and the relief would take over.

In the cold light of day though, what has happened needs looking at.

Nah, Terry is probably his local butcher.

I hope you get on well together. Those cabins are much smaller than they look in the brochures.

We should all know that there is a hidden following of over 20,000 ‘Walsall’ supporters just itching to get to a Wembley final…I think they must live underground, or under a rock for the rest of the year.
Bristol City embarrassing non performance would have put me off should I have been well enough to attend, but will NEVER forget Byfield’s winner in the Reading play off at the Minellium Stadium, thought I was going to pass out with excitement & joy.

Do we really need to be left high and dry in January? Yet again. Get a permanent striker (or 3) in, we’ll need to replace Harrison,DJ, Jamma and Gordon.

It wasn’t the teams non performance that spoiled it for me. We were playing one of the best League 1 teams ever. Winning was unlikely. Mind you not many thought we’d get past Preston (those nights were amazing)

We got stuck in traffic and didn’t get to the Green Man to soak up any atmosphere. We literally had to jump off the coach and walk/jog to the ground to make it.

Even more so being surrounded by Villa fans, thanks for coming and all that but the way some of them behaved and took the piss out of Walsall, it was a good job I had my young son with me. I’m a Walsall fan, having 20-odd thousand tagging along wasn’t all that much fun.

Flying from Manchester on the Tuesday so Old Trafford would have suited me, but will definitely fit in a day trip to London if it should come to that.
Cardiff was so brilliant, those 90 seconds when the game turned round. Even the driving down to Walsall to get a coach & then the reverse later wasn’t too bad!

There was some Villa fans sat behind me in the upper the other week. Couldn’t keep their mouths shut.

“I don’t think I could watch this every week”
“Yeah I know”
“Mind you if you don’t know any better you probably don’t realise”

I had to seriously bite my tongue, no wonder everyone hates Villa fans

Seems a lot more Walsall fans like Villa these days. I come from a different era!

What you explained is fairly typical though.

We already have them, Levi, J Gordon and DJT, loads of running around chasing a ball and a nice pat on the head off Sadler and a few treats after

I wouldn’t lump Levi in with the others to be fair.

He’s not amazing or anything but at least he looks a threat if you can get the ball into his feet to run at defenders. I was very critical when I first saw him but he has changed my mind a little. I wouldn’t want him to be our main striker going into next season mind.

Let’s hope we still get promoted :folded_hands:

I hope we can get it over the line and make a super human effort with the last two games v Accrington & Crewe & other results go our way as I dont think the team has enough in their legs for the play offs and a final

“Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all”! 5 months of Lowe is better than 10 months of some of our own strikers! I hope we can get in some strikers of our own, but Lowe coming back would be great.

Wembley is awful. I was so underwhelmed on that day. Clinical environment, more atmosphere on the moon and surrounded by supporters of other clubs. It was the opposite experience to what I had at the Millennium, which was incredible

I had put it down to the fact that it was in a ‘nothing’ tournament and we lost, but I’m not so sure.

If we made the tinpot trophy final I wouldn’t go, but theres no way I would miss us in a Play Off final

Its just depressingly soulless. The only good thing about it was the speed of the bars. :joy:

honestly never heard any other fans say Wembley experience is that great either. I suppose it helps if you win. Might be different for England games i dunno.
