3 young players on loan all from higher up the footballing pyramid. Aside from a few minutes of the Man U striker over a couple of games, they’ve not even made the squad.
What gives?
Not good enough? Not fit enough (yet)? Attitude problems?
All seems very odd and today made it crystal clear we’re crying out for something different especially up front and in midfield.
does the buck stop with trivela or Sadler? top of the league we should have pushed the boat out and bought players who could make the starting line up or effect it from the bench

Waste of time signing them pathetic recruitment we needed players to come in ready to make us better or make a difference.
At worst not good enough or at best a manager scared to use them.
Either way the throw shit at a wall approach to January recruitment was never going to be the best way to do it.
January is a difficult window for Clubs like us anyway but the acquisition of one quality midfielder would have been great. I have posted elsewhere that I am surprised the midfielders haven’t been on the bench at least.
Both midfielders were brought in solely as cover because anymore long term injuries to the likes of Stirk/Jellis and we would have had nothing else to call upon after the deadline shut.
Ones saying “Why aren’t they on the bench”, we currently have a pretty much fully fit squad, which two of the bench from todays game would they replace?
Need Hornby for keeper cover, so not him.
Williams and Weir? But they’re needed for defensive options
Lakin? Not for me
Adomah? Not for me
Johnson and Amantchi? Do they get in over two strikers?
Against Cheltenham 1 should’ve got in ahead of Lakin as he was still recovering from the stomach bug he had the previous weekend
Good point on who they would replace. At home one could replace a defender , away an attacker. I agree they were simply brought in as cover but we lost the goals at Cheltenham partly through tiredness and a young energetic midfielder might have helped.
I’d say Lakin in place of Comley in the starting line up and Lipsuic on the bench who I understand to be more of an 8. We don’t need two CDM’s in the squad at home. Especially when Lakin or McEntee could fill in if there was an injury to Stirk.
Does anyone still think we had a good January window?

But just like with DJ Sadler seems reluctant to make changes and we will just have to wait and see if his judgement was sound.

Think about what we did last time we were in contention from promotion for this division.
We brought in Kevin Harper and Trevor Benjamin. 2 players who improved us and got us over the line.
Now compare that to what we did this January.
Granted, the transfer world has changed for the worse for lower league teams, but the principle still holds. We needed quality to improve us, we didn’t get it. I like Harrison, he’d get in any of the teams from the past 5 years, but we needed more than that.
Wheatley is injured, I believe.
The other two are fit and waiting for a chance. I’m not sure who we’d drop to fit them into the matchday squad, to be honest.
What’s also jarring is that we sign these players to great fanfare, then they don’t appear. What’s the point?
I mean I get it - it’s a trial, right. We are taking a look at these players for next year, but sign them on the quiet and don’t big it up 
McEntee and Comley would probably get in the match day squad ahead of Declan Rice and Alexis MacAllister with Sadler in charge
They would never be ‘match’ fit, if called on (and playing in Stoke’s under 21 team don’t count). Weird loans.
Wheatley’s face when he got hooked v Salford, spoke volumes. Spoilt and pampered little boy. Nowhere near ready. Bum loan.
