Why do away fans turn selfish ?
Sit in your allocated seat it ain’t hard
The majority of away games are unallocated seating.
Most I’ve been to haven’t like Stockport Southampton etc but guess there bigger attendances
Was a nightmare for us to see anything or sit together due to selfish people
Put my father off away days who struggles to stand
Yeah I can appreciate that. Myself and my boys didn’t even have a seat at Chesterfield. The stewards kept asking us to sit down but they couldn’t find us a seat to sit in.
Even if the allocation is allocated seating, very few away grounds enforce it, a few do but not many.
I think something has changed since the initial allocation, to be honest.
That was meant to have been 300 standing tickets and 191 seats. £20 for an adult.
Booked ours today and they charged me £22 for mine, I assume in the seats, but didn’t ask. Not bothered about the £2 just seems like they have decided since to stick us all in the seats. Didn’t fancy the open away end much anyway, gonna piss it down Saturday I think.
We met at Accrington, and missed our first goal together in favour of another beer
I would argue that if you go to games, even moreso away games, you are pretty much a Saddler, and proud of it. No necessity to wear specific colours, but do so if you want to.
I think Croddy’s comments referred to away colours not always being welcome in certain establishments.
I’ve supported Walsall a long long time home and away .but haven’t been to an away game for years age and mobility issues mainly.Ive always had the greatest respect for visiting fans and those that follow there team anywhere .yes you always get a few nutters that want to cause trouble regardless but there not the majority I love personally to engage with opposition fans as I’m sure a lot on here do .Last night I Missed the game as I promised my grandson I would attend a youth game at Rushall Olympic last night .today I was on there twitter site and was reading the report on the first team game at Scunthorpe last night .There was a comment on there that when the attendance was announced the Scunthorpe fans gave a standing ovation to the Rushall contingent .really nice to read at the end of the day were all fans of football and of course loyal to our particular hometown club .
They took 9. I hope those 9 are guaranteed tickets for the big cup game.
It’s just Crod being Crod. A lot of bait in there as usual. Very good at what he does to be fair, I fall for it often even though I know!
He makes me chuckle out loud tbh, even though I know the script
He does take liberties good job we don’t have any aboriginal saddler supporters or he might get told we’re to goo .
Do they have young ladies playing the topless darts. I might stay in the pub rather than go to the game.
A quite superb post!
Surely will be pay on the day for the terrace.
Andy Holt would never turn away a few extra quid?
For those of us of a certain vintage, this advert is indelibly linked to our awareness of Saturday’s opponents. Although, as a result of this ad, we also probably thought they must have been close neighbours to Liverpool rather than slap bang between Blackburn and Burnley.
Yes we have seats in the IMAP stand F. Ive had my tickets a while, swapped then from the reaarranged Bromley evening game as the wife cant make it. We’re braving the M6 tomoz eve to have a gander at the Blackpool lights and a cheap B&B.
Great to hear of cases where opposing fans get on or have clever banter.
I’m old enough to remember going to away games where there was no allocated “away” end and one just sauntered up to whatever turnstile beckoned.
I also remember good banter with opposition fans, usually vying to put down their own team with variations of “Our lot are rubbish. You should get two points here”.
However, I do remember one occasion around 30 to 40 years ago, at Newport. We (me, my mate and my son) were sitting almost on the touchline near a rather stout gentleman (OK, a fat bloke) supporting his home team. He was friendly, polite, disparaging of his own team’s chances and even offered some grudging praise at how we were playing as we were shading it up to that point.
Then they scored, somewhat against the run of play. The bloke went bonkers triumphantly raging against Walsall supporters, the team, the referee - everything - using some choice words I should have preferred him not to use in front of my very young son. It was a bit of a surprise.
Curious, really, because up until their goal he seemed almost human.
I think we lost 2 - 1 on the day.
I went up last week. Set off around 1.30. Took 4 hrs
Some human beings are very strange people, complete nut jobs. I think drugs has a major role to play in their behavior. Get help! It’s out there in abundance.
Accrington is always a difficult place to go, but we are playing some good football, the squad is full of confidence and will be more than ready for this game.
Another couple of wins will see us (hopefully) starting to climb away from the pack, but we can’t keep our foot off the pedal by losing games we should win.
Saturday will be a glorious chance to do that. We’ve started a mini run, let’s keep it going.
UTS
Not really been any issues lately, been to every away game this season and our fans have been great.
I think it helps with us scoring 4 goals most weekends
