I am gutted I can’t make it , once a year I get wheeled out as an industry veteran to pass on my supposed wisdom to the next generation of Cold Storage weirdo’s in the Southern Hemisphere and this unfortunately is the week .
So I will be in Melbourne up late like I have been every Saturday/ Sunday since August dreaming the dream of the great escape from this division of inconsistency where even the best can turn into no hopers and then back again in a matter of weeks.
If the Mean Machine shows up that is solid at the back and controlling in the middle then there is no way we will lose. The Triangle of Dave, Williams, Allen anchored by Stirk is the rock
that will sweep us to victory, when those four are solid we win it’s simple.
This team whatever happens has given us a season to remember in more ways than one , some great cup nights , a magic run of nine wins , the depth of despair in March and then the recovery after being on the canvas and counted out by everyone as bottlers , even I had nearly lost faith and was comparing them with the Blow Jays of 87. I hope more than I care to admit we win it for young supporters like @Blazing_Saddler young lads and also for the saddlers no longers with us like @chunkster who I never met but know he will be looking down from the Arch and smiling as the Saddlers walk out.
One final thing @JoaquinErnesto , Skippy popped by for pint , boy can that Kanga drink , he says it’s in the bag
We’ve got this , we really have
Love this team

I like your posts.
I’m not gonna lie, there was a point this season where your over positive vibe got on my nerves a lot! Nothing personal against you, I hope you understand.
I don’t think it will have been a good season if we don’t do it. We have had some great days/nights I agree but ultimately it has been totally exhausting. When I had finally given up hope, we go and look like a football team again.
We aren’t all the same and as a rule I am all for different views and options, it just got to me too much this season, I shouldn’t have let that happen.
Shame you can’t make it, but your heart will be there.

I agree blazing it’s nice to visit Wembley and hopefully come out the right side regarding the result, and it’s a great occasion for the fans to witness, but it’s bittersweet for me as we should have walked this league. The implosion since January has been horrendous and we became a laughing stock, even if we win Monday I’m not convinced that Sadler and the back room staff have the nous for League 1 , I can’t forgive the shambles we became after January, I’ll be shouting for the boys at Wembley because it would be a travesty to fall at the final hurdle, then the inquest can begin and I hope the yanks take stock of this carnage, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they sat on their hands. We will see.

The odds are still ,well, odd. Wimbledon slight favourites with us and the draw the same odds. Neutral ground probably part of it.
I’d have us favourites now. I don’t think the market’s picked up on how we’re now nearer to Oct-Jan than Feb-April. If Hall and Chang had featured earlier, we’d have cantered to the title. Add to that Asiimwe, and that Sadler seems to have realised what a waste it is playing Albert down the middle. Then add the players returning to form, with the defence looking solid again, and I think we’re being underestimated.

Love being the underdog. Let sky blow wind up the wombles arse while ridiculing us for blowing promotion. Imagine the scenes if we get promotion while singing " 12 points clear and we fckued it up", then singing “we are going up”. Perfect that would be

Gutted to miss it. But we booked Disney world for half term when we were miles clear So that’s 4 of us that would have been there.
My boy plays for the foundation and has been training on the Astro for a few years now. I took him to Chesterfield for the 1st leg, and he didn’t stop singing all the way through to the second leg and he is still singing away. So he’s hooked on Walsall, wants to do more away days next year.
Just need to find a bar in Disney at 10am to watch the game and we’ll be cheering them on with our tops and hats on! Might get a few strange looks!
I’m confident about this one and can see a 2-0 win. Complete reverse of confidence going into the play offs.
We wish everyone going a safe trip and make the same noise as the 2 semi finals, bring promotion back home!!

Yep he had one joke- a bit like Stan Boardman and the Jeerrmans
How ironic - I’ve just passed through Chesterfield on the third leg of my Wembley journey!

Glad you sorted out travel. I’m on easyjet Inverness to luton tomorrow early evening. Return flight Tuesday morning. Only one last hurdle…gale force winds forecast for tomorrow afternoon in Inverness wider area so keeping everything crossed that flight isn’t cancelled or delayed because i then have to get bus and underground to uxbridge to meet my son.
Looking forward to it…but nervous. It’s either going to be a fantastic day…or a really miserable one.

Yeah - wind forecast will make flights ‘exciting’ over the weekend. I’ll admit to being terrified of flying - hence the ferry + train options.
In Walsall anyway now - so a couple of evenings with the in-laws and then the stress of Monday!
Safe travels - and hope the sick bags don’t get used!

How I would love to be there, not possible I’m afraid as I have too many commitments State side.
I wish the lads nothing but the very best on Monday. We’ve recaptured our form…we just need one more game to solidify it…come on lads you can do it!
Well done to our fantastic supporters who are lucky enough to attend the game, please scream the place down. Always Walsall proud.
