It’s a bit early to be talking about this, but I think that’s wrong. None of the 4 teams coming down look great shakes. Not really scared of Barnet (Owen Evans their star player) and Oldham or Southend can barely win in the national league.
Who is left in this division to fear? Perhaps Mk Dons if they get it together. Swindon?
I don’t see it myself. Next season Walsall should be targeting top 7 again and is partly why I am against a reset in the way we play
24 hours on and still absolutely gutted and angry at that totally abject no show yesterday.
It was just unacceptable and once again Sadler shoulders the blame.
The fans gave him a second chance as we went into the play offs after one of the biggest capitulations of all time and he blew it.
His position is now untenable.
Hoping a decision is made by tomorrow so that we can all move on.
It’s simply unacceptable - and if the management of the club thinks the supporters will accept ‘it was just not meant to be’ then they’re taking us for mugs.
I don’t think they’re capable of understanding just how much this hurts - and while we we can accept the limits of player ability, we won’t accept becoming a laughing stock.
There has to be an acceptance from the club of the mistakes that have been made at all levels of the management / ownership structure - and there has to be an apology that we have been let down.
Seen this earlier ,sums us up really , A bloody laughing stock .Still pissed off we was even in the playoffs ,and to get a second bite of the cherry and not turn up , Then to sum it up we get stuck in the coach park as a coach driver got run over by another coach and we was stuck getting out, hope the chaps ok tho .
Underground coach park , he was taken to hospital with head and internal injuries, the coach he was driving left at 9:30 after a new driver had to go to drive them back
As soon as I saw the lineup with Matt as the lone striker, I said to my boys “Shall we just get the train back now?”. Everything was wrong from the starting XI to the subs. Andy keeps saying about keeping Sadler and not having a reset, what’s he hoping for? 3rd time lucky? Essentially another year of Saddler and another year of a divide on this board, although I would imagine Sadler’s supporters will dwindle. I haven’t got the emotional energy for another season with him in charge.
I agree. Sadly we were a failure off the pitch as well as on it. Not in terms of numbers but in terms of atmosphere. The couple of blocks of Dons fans made more noise than ou 17000 together. That was really sad. And ive done some huge days out. Liverpool, man u, cardiff. Its never been like that. Never once did any type of atmosphere get going.
It’s hard to be up for it when you’ve got a pretty good idea what is going to happen, and once we went behind, I think we all knew it was done. Sad thing is, is that Wimbledon we’re not much better than us, I think they’ll struggle next year.
I cant see much divide on this board re Sadler. The vast majority just want him gone asap. I can only think of one poster who just wants us all to celebrate our shiteness and be happy about it. And when we argue with him he just abuses everyone
Im confident he will be gone soon. Once youve lost the fanbase to that extent your finished.
I and one or two others are on the fence on this. I agree with a lot that has been said about MS but if we get rid now we need a Manager in immediately…within days so Trivela cannot hang about. The lateness of the play offs means that whoever comes in will only have a week or two to plan the season, decide the type of player needed and recruit them. Secondly MS has one strong thing in his favour…the players want to play for him and if he goes we may lose players who we would want to stay. I accept that if he stays and even if we do start well there will always be doubts after this season. That is a factor that Trivela need to take into account. Very difficult decision in my view.Glad I am not taking it! It is a mess.
It’s more about fearing what could happen. For all the MS bashing I’ve seen very little offered in terms of alternatives (browser’s interesting suggestion of Andy Peaks not withstanding)
Some posters think we can change tack immediately. They may be right, but I am doubtful.
Players come and go. Keeping a manager who has blatantly failed just to keep a few players happy isn’t the way to go. Maybe those players need a kick up the arse too and realise their starting spot isn’t a given if a new man comes in.
