Watched a EFL Playoff preview programme last night (Prutton, McAnuff, etc) plus Don Goodman. Our game previewed towards the end, hardly a Walsall mention, and certainly no mention of Don Goodman having scored for us in our last appearance at such a final, although he did go for a Saddlers win given his ‘Walsall history’. (The other, less-knowledgeables all went for a Wombles win)
I have to admit I’m finding it a bit strange as to why the club seems to be minimally ‘shouting about’ the fact we’ve got to Wembley…
Maybe they are deliberately keeping ‘their powder dry’ to help keep pressure off the players??
If it helps us win I couldn’t give a monkeys….

I think it’s great that all the talk is about Wimbledon and that they are favourites. And I am not bothered about the club keeping it low key. We had enough publicity when we went to Wembley last time and when we were 15 points clear. Neither of those turned out well. Let the favourites preen themselves and take the pressure. I am happy keeping our heads down.

Yep I think it is intentional. The Chesterfield games were very low key too, almost like any other league game from the club. You’d think the away leg was a league game from the clubs feed and updates.
Last time we treated it like a Champions League final and the players completely froze. I like the more relaxed build up, almost like any other business. Take it in our stride

3 days to go and i still dont know what to think.
Things I Like:
- That the wombles seem to be giving it the biggen a bit
- Bogiels out
- They are the neutrals favourite
- They are most peoples favourite
- They lack a threat
- Were in a 3 on the bounce turn in form
Things I dont like:
- Our strikers are already gone
- Jamma was running on fumes a month ago - now hes spluttering like a rusty 60s peddle and pop scooter found in 2025 in a old blokes shed. Does he have another 50mins left?
- Will he bring baratt into the bench? I hope not.
Predictions:
I threw some shorts in the bin after the crewe game and thought, “no… keep them, we won in them” - so far they have. Didnt repair the bost zip and they have done 2 more wins. They will be worn to Wembley and as long as i follow the same shorts; different top model - I think we’ll win. LOL what a crock of shite - but ill still do it!
I think a 0:2 win to the red shorted, red shirted saddlers - 1 in the 1st 20; 1 last 20. Uncs to bag his 100.
The playoffs are a gamble - its 1 game to define 9 months of football - BUT I think, that whatever the result, Sadz deserves until November next year.

Just drove 180 mile round trip to pick up my wembley t-shirt and bucket hat. My missus thinks I’m raving mad.I just hope I get to wear it next season not like my JPL scarf which got thrown in the back of the wardrobe when I got home never to see the light of day again after that display.
The T-shirt itself is good quality cotton not like those cheap polyester rubbish that are generally sold for these events.

I tried a bucket hat on the other day but have a small head and decided I looked like one of the flowerpot men….
The t-shirts do look decent quality…
