Alex Pattison Signs

Been changed this season to two

Indeed. That is taken from the new rule 95 on the FA site. Why the first sentence then?

Interviews now on leather sofa with cushions! He also, at the end, says he is ā€œbuzzingā€ - obviously got the script tip-off.

I think that if Burke is back soon, then we have enough CBs with Straw being the 6th choice which seems appropriate to me. We had similar last season with Browne being the 6th choice.

Edit: actually we also had Weir, so we did have 7 CBs last season.

Any chance of Ahui being fit before the end of the season too?

Bless you!

Good signing, keeping him fit will be the key.

Has said in an interview with BBC WM that he’ll be getting ā€˜that’ tattoo covered up/removed…

Don’t think he should tbh, its part of his history and shouldn’t really offend anyone

Did his ACL in June, so would expect to not see him in contention until March/April, so probably not I’d imagine.

Thought he really came into the game today and was disappointed when sadler took him off for lakin. Thought he should stay on and maintain the influence he had, which would have helped in that last 10-15 mins

First league start and full game in ages after many injuries . Sadler protecting his body

Good point, I hadn’t thought about that.
Hopefully he’ll prove to be that something different our midfield needs.

After seeing him play for most of the game on Saturday, i must say he was brilliant. Great at driving forward and breaking up play. And this is Pattison not fully fit! I can’t wait to see him when he’s fully fit and up to speed. I’m liking him already. And he has a song already from the fans

We’ve been crying out for someone in midfield that could make a difference and Pattison was just perfect. Keeping him fit will be crucial going into the business end of the season.

One thing that struck me about pattison when he was on the ball on Saturday was his body positioning. It’s such a crucial part of any ball sport. Such a refreshing change to seeing players stretching and blowing situations up with poor jumps, mis-timed tackles and over hit passes. He also put the running in when he needed to such as with the passage of play that lead to Matt’s goal, but let the ball do the work on other occasions such as with Kanu’s. He didn’t get everything right which is why he’s playing for Walsall in the fourth division, but my god his efforts were an upgrade bordering on a footballing epiphany compared to the nonsensical rubbish that’s masqueraded as midfield play in recent years.

Yeah hes deffo still a work horse he put some meaty challenges in but he actually looks like he can turn around and play. Its like chalk and cheese compared to Comley/Lakin and insert whoever else.

Ideal for Sadball really. Really looking forward to seeing him more. Fingers crossed on the old fitness…

I’m hoping that, as a senior pro, Jellis can learn from him.

Jamie has tons of natural ability, but he needs a tutor. By the way, Gary Waddock was a wonderful international midfielder and if the likes of Clarke and JJ can’t learn from him, they might as well pack up and go into non league (from whence they came…).

Pattison’s signing gives me real hope that we will have the centre core of our team sorted. Perhaps I am speaking to soon but it looks as if Roberts, Flint, Pattison, and Kanu are four really good players at this level.

The other 7 around them are pretty average, but if we have quality through the middle that should be enough to maintain our promotion challenge.
