You’re missing the point. It doesn’t matter how many starts you give a young player if the role doesn’t suit you and you’re not coached correctly. Considering his visible decline under Clarke I’m absolutely amazed people are giving him any credit whatsoever, quite the opposite.
I’m sorry that his career hasn’t blossomed here from a bright start. Initially he was always trying to make things happen and get us moving forward and stood out in comparison to poor performing senior players.
I have the impression that he hasn’t been handled very well by the management over the last year or so, but I obviously don’t know what goes on behind the scenes.
I wish him well and hope he prospers and fulfils his promise.
