All Quiet at The Banks's - Transfer Rumour Thread 18/19

Mansfield looking at that Cameron so he won’t come to us, gets embarrassing when teams come out the conference and show more ambition, not saying Cameron is the answer but being a walsall fan for 23years get a disheartening when you hear other clubs interested in players because I’m at the stage where I think we got no chance then lol, I know cook rejected more money elsewhere but that is rare in this day and age

He’s been on loan at Rochdale all last season. That’s where he’s going.

Inman is on record as turning down Rochdale. Would love him at Walsall and he has been linked before. However, the smart money would be on Doncaster given I think it was their boss who signed him for Posh…

He’s joined Rochdale.

…ahead of ourselves and Scunny. Shame, but his main priority is getting a game and the fact that he enjoyed it there last season and played regularly makes sense. Bang go my compo’s! Apart from Dale away.:sob:

No surprise that he has joined a bigger club than Walsall!! We need 3 or 4 experienced and quality signings pretty soon. A centre-back is a must, as is a striker. Over to you Deano and the board.

Oh :confounded:

I’m not so sure we need a striker. Cook and Baka should be a good partnership. Ismail can play up front if the need arises and we’ve got three very promising youngsters coming through in that position. For me defence is where we’re short on both quality and quantity.

But Wendy Mumford seemed so sure! #justajoke #nooffenceintendedWendy :grinning:

How are Rochdale any bigger than Walsall? All those trophies and their massive ground?

I’d like to see some proven experience or at least a few loanees arrive but I don’t think there is any great urgency, definitely not for a striker. It’s a long time until the transfer window and we’ve already signed, what, 4 players?

He was being sarcastic

Fair enough

And don’t forget Mitch Candlin or even the new lad Dylan Parker. Still teenagers but they look to have plenty of potential and could make a breakthrough at some point this season.

Need another striker for depth at least. Baka got 3 match ban for a red last season, Cook seems a pretty physical striker so he could have issues with Refs unless a Tranmere fan comes on again here and says he hardly ever got booked.

Four is usually the best number at this level…1st half of last season it was Agyei, Roberts, Baka and Jackson. Second half it was Baka, Ngoy and Shaibu so just two strikers seems very risky to me.

Would keep Ismail out wide. Even if Baka has a much improved year I’d still be surprised if he got to 15 goals, he’s just not that good a finisher one-on-one.

I agree that another striker would be good but our priority must surely be 2 CBs.because we are really short in that area. Another midfielder would also be useful.

SamaraSaddler - I’m glad you understand sarcasm. There are too many autistic people on this site who take things too literally. I can’t understand why any player would join them instead of us, unless they are based in the North-West and I don’t believe Inman is. Perhaps it’s because it’s nearer Scotland.

It wasn’t exactly difficult to notice :joy:

The problem is Cook is unproven, no one knows for sure which way it will go. If he doesn’t hit the ground running we will be left short.

This is why in my opinion we should of released Baka and ploughed some cash into a proven striker as a safety net for Cook.

Autistic? wow. New one on me that.
