Aston Villa (H) - Friendly - Wed 17th July, 7.30pm (L 3-0)

The annual fundraiser against Villa is almost upon us. Can we get a result this time?

If anyone wants to preview these but is worried about their style, then just DM me your preview and I’ll clean it up and post under my name tagged ‘contributed by anon’.

Trivela and thir investors will certainly get a result with north of £ 50k off the gate proceeds plus the profit on F&B & Merch

Thanks for spotting my obvious plant…

Really hoping there’s no half half scarfs on sale!

Hoping to get a half and half scarf. Its a great occasion and not often we see Champion League teams play at the Poundland. Think we will lose heavily

Majority of their first team are still away, it’ll be mainly academy players with a couple of their new signings.

Last year it was 1-1 with their main team.

Proud unbeaten record in pre-season friendlies for Sadler to protect. Villa will be a bit light with their Euro and Copa America stars still absent so the opportunity of a giantkilling is very much there. Always a privilege to see the local big boys and their huge support give us a game, and is generally a good crack with decent banter between the respective audiences.

Sadler’s unbeaten record in friendlies will be under threat here. I hope Adomah plays and he proves himself - think he might have a good game as the Villa fans will obviously remember him.

Its only a friendly, I would expect several team changes throughput the game.
Its about getting match fit, not the result.

Villa haven’t beaten us in a competitive game for over 90 years.
That was in front of our record attendance for a home match of over 72,000.

Where will adomah play though ? That’s the question

Eh?

We were drawn out of the hat to play at Home but elected to play Away, and the attendance was over 74,000.

So we weren’t actually at home then? :joy:
Was wondering how they’d squeezed that many in Fellows Park.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So technically we were at home :rofl::rofl:
I’m claiming it!

Wikipedia (that ever reliable source) backs me up.

Apparently thousands of Saddlers walked there. I think my grandad went but he probably took the train (literally) because he was a train driver :grinning:

Did he park it at Aston station?
