Aston Villa (H) - Friendly - Wed 17th July, 7.30pm (L 3-0)

Some suggestions that no7 is Jovan Malcolm.

Thought the number 7 looked ok but hard to make a full judgement when we didn’t have enough possession . He looked quite lively I thought

Looking online, I’m not sure it is Malcolm, looks more like Bobby Kamwa, ex Burton from Cameroon

all the names mentioned Moore, kamwa and malcolm records on wiki are beyond desperate.

We surely can’t be considering any of these players seriously. maybe they are all we can afford

How did Adomah get on

Good shout.

Burton signed another player today so they’ll be shipping a few out.

Thought we were ok, echo what @TomWFC92 says really, just missing a couple of strikers.

Like the look of Lakin, he’s going to be a real nuisance for teams.

Who was the other striker?

Did someone mention Moore?

Not sure who that is.

Deon Moore, ex Sutton. Played against Alvechurch.

God help us if those 2 are a selection of Moore, kamwa and malcolm

have you seen their Wikipedia records

As ever, don’t think we can take much from this match. Saturday will give a much better glimpse into how we will play/fare next season.

Not sure how one person can be Bobby Kamwa and Jovan Malcolm

They’re only trialists anyway.

they clearly can’t can they but all 3 whoever they are have wikipidea records as strikers which could only be described as absolutely ā€˜horrific’

make osei yaw and Abraham look like premiership material

Thanks @Bags10
I was having a senior moment!

Regarding Kamwa, just looking on Twitter, the burton fans were surprised that he and Lakin were released. There’s also the Josh Gordon connection.

If he’s half as good as our last Cameroon number 7, I’ll be well happy.

Loved Charlie - that OG v West Ham was unbelievable. I remember being behind the goal when it happened and silently mouthing WTF!

All of the trialists made good contributions, particularly liked the look of Moore up front. Adomah oozes class. I’d think they are all worth a other look on the evidence of tonight and Saturday will be a better test of their credentials.

Other highlights:

Lakin looks a very handy player, suits our more direct game and is a workaholic, I bet Sadler loves him already.
Connor Barrett was very tidy, offers us a better natural option on the right and linked up well with a marauding McEntee.
Matt was a real handful for the Villa defence and looks much fitter than this time last year.
Other than a few sleepy moments at set pieces the defence in both halves was rock solid, don’t recall what was a high class Villa outfit ever really carving us open.
Neil Simkin is going to be a superstar, thought he was hugely impressive.
We have some decent strength in depth in the majority of the positions, this showed in our second half performance which was arguably better than the first half despite wholesale changes.

Thought Kamwa looked lively, i suppose with the system we have in place now, maybe if he’s someone they like the look of but have eyes on other strikers is that they could offer him a deal and loan him straight out to Drogheda if it was a deal that costs us next to nothing, give him six months/a year out there and see how he gets on.

Moore, Hornby and Adomah, who was the other trialist?

Where did he play and how did he get on?
