Of course you know best, no need to swear (no one else has) or is that your limited vocabulary ?
Couldn’t disagree more with you here. Fickle and judgemental as a rule we are not. Apart from the very vocal minority in the stands and those with the internet equivalent of verbal diahorrea on here, what I see week in and week out are some of the most patient and forgiving fans in the Midlands when it comes to our players.
If they put a shift in and do as they are expected, we generally back them. I genuinely wish Baka the best at wherever he is likely going (apart from when they play us) and now we move on.
Don’t try and blame the fans for him moving. If anything, blame the manager who has had most to do with his formative first team years here.
Walsall fans are notorious for turning on there own players, Baka is just the latest target…shame on all of you !
Well, for me fans and their opinion have little meaning here. Simply, management haven’t seen him as a striker capable of playing in the first squad. Harsh? Maybe, but I haven’t seen him at training. They’ve seen. Last season he showed some glimpses of quality, but not enough to win place in squad this season. But that was gaffer’s decision. At least it looks like new players will be ok. So, for now it is good decision. He will start somewhere else from point zero. And club will get some money.
Just waiting for the medical apparently:
But some on here have found a new target. Supporters ? don’t make me laugh !
Bakayoko had lots of chance and didn’t take them. That’s noones fault but his own.
If he’d tried as hard as Ferrier today, or Cook, he’d have been a decent player but he let himself be bullied far too easily.
People on this site like to rewrite history at times, by suggesting it was everyone else’s fault rather than the players. Baka didn’t do enough and a move will be best for everyone.
I say all that as someone who stuck with him for all but the last couple of months of last season. I wanted him to succeed but am glad now he’s going.
Good luck to him.
Wasn’t he a Walsall player though for the last couple of months, if so it would have been a Walsall fans sense of decency to stick by and support any player who plays for us…looks like i am wrong again by sticking up for one of our own.
Pinnacle, what I meant is that id had enough of him by then. I never jeered, or booed him, but id lost faith in his ability to be a decent player.
Ideally fans would never have a go at any player but that’s not how the game is. When a player pisses you off every Saturday for a long time, fans are going to turn. Its always happened and always will.
Sorry again but i suppose it must just be then, i have never booed or jeered a player of Walsall FC.
I have had my moments of despair and frustration but there are some posters on here who make it a daily occurrence to rubbish everything Walsall FC and always post it on here, look at all the posters who said we would lose today before a ball was kicked…i really cannot get the mindset of so called supporters tbh.
I think the odds were that we probably would lose based on the shambles of recruitment in the summer.
That said, there’s no reason to go over the top, but frustration is part of being a fan.
Hopefully everything turns out ok (based on today we’ll be fine). The beer certainly tastes better after a win.
I am sure it does, besides what people on here say about me you will have to let me know !
Definitely off, should be announced Monday. £70k upfront rumoured, rest in installments.
A fresh start I think is best for Baka.
Plenty of need, you’re talking ■■■■. Just the most fitting assessment
Nice sly referral to “racism” again.
“a player who became an easy target for the fans to slag off (wonder why?)”
I remember your little hissy fit on the old site if no one else does.
Let’s make this clear snowflake. The reason the universal opinion of Bakayoko going is one of “oh well, thanks for the effort”, is not because of race it is because he is simply not good enough. Try 9 goals in 93 appearances !
But you continue to use your little “race card”.
He’s had plenty of chances here. You can also tell that he needs a fresh start as much as we do. The move will do us both good, I reckon he’ll score goals elsewhere but just not here, good decision all round.
I think that was the case, but perhaps there’s been a general move in Britain towards wanting something right now and all the impatience that goes with it. I don’t think this is confined to Walsall FC.
It’s fair to say that there are some elements in our fan base that are incredibly reactionary, volatile and are burdened with the kind of immediacy that we used to mock the ======= over.
Some players fall foul of this very quickly and are vocally harangued for the duration of their tenure. Bako is a classic example, but the list of others is also disappointingly long.
Consider the ongoing Smithout campaign by reactionaries, and some even wanted Keates OUT or expressed major reservations after his first bloody summer. Think about that. That’s what the club’s up against and has to deal with on a regular basis. The e-mails, phone-calls and other correspondence. It’s no wonder that (some) treat the fans like absolute rubbish in some regards.
Social media gives idiots a platformm, and their brain-dead echo chamber mates lend the illusion of legitimacy.
Get a grip!
