Birmingham (A) - FL Trophy - Tuesday 3rd September 7.45pm

They put a stronger side than that out against us.

And 3 up at half time at Shrewsbury!

4-0

I think that puts us through, even if we lose to Shrewsbury. There’s no result that can put both Blues and Fulham above us.

Pity…… hate this competition only plus is a few fringe players get a bit of game time but even the rules state you have to play so many players from the previous league game

If we lose to Shrewsbury and Fulham get the bonus point for winning on penalties then blues will have 5 points with a much better goal diff. And Fulham will have 5 with us so will come down to goal diff. If they draw 0-0 and we lose 1-0 we will have the same goal diff and scored 2 goals each, assuming we don’t score against Shrews lol

Actually I think I’m wrong. If the Fulham - Blues game was drawn and we lost it would come down to goal difference and possibly goals scored.

Yes. You were seconds ahead of me!

Not sure what it would go down to if we both had the exact same goal diff :joy:

Don’t worry though we will beat the sloppies 5-0 so let’s not think about that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think it could be the result of the match between the teams involved, in which case we’d go through.

Tbh I only go to these games now to see the fringe players and youngsters off the bench . Especially how we have started the season I don’t see any benefits apart from a few quid in the bank but potentially harmful to our league position and injuries.

Birmingham had 3,100 fans in a crowd of 4,800 at Shrewsbury last night.

Massive aren’t they.

That is outrageous support to be fair.

It’s goal difference as first qualifier.

Then goals scored

Then head to head

We’re all but through. Just be nice to secure a home tie. No necessarily to advance just to prevent the lads needing to travel.

Though to be fair, after the Salop game we’ll have had six cup ties and the furthest we’ll have travelled will be Small Heath.

Physically, but metaphorically we have come miles this season compared to the last few.

Just for a change, I’m looking forward to the FA cup this season now we’ve actually started competing again.

According to a bluenose at work there were rumours of a fan boycott by the Sloppies, hence the high blues turnout.

Blues winning 5-1 at fulham u21… think this means we are through regardless of result against salop
