Bolton Wanderers (H) F A Cup 1st round, Nov 2nd 3pm

It’s just the black humor of football fans. You should have seen some of the things our fans used to sing at some of the female special constables years ago.

Club statement on Harry Williams.
Good news in the circumstances.

No news yet on the damage to the wall.

It’s like being in a crap job or relationship, you become accustomed to it, and when you finally move on to a better one, it takes a long time to accept how much better it is without fearing it’ll ultimately fall apart.

Read the comments off the fans at the end of the article, he is not a liked man at all and they didn’t see the match as he did either…

I think that was ‘Scrimaldo’ going through his paces behind Evatt in that interview!! Crikey, siging the likes of him, seems an age ago now!

Superb news.I have to say I was worried when the medical staff started waving their arms in what looked at the time like panic.Swift recovery Harry you’ve been awesome so far this season.

Great to hear that ‘H’ is doing well and I hope he recovers quickly and gets back playing asap. Daniels looked fine and I’m guessing will deputise in that middle CB at least next weekend and probably against Shrewsbury as well.

It was funny hearing Sadler refer to Williams as ‘H’ so much in his interview! I think we could easily have a team of initials or short nicknames the way we are going and save time on saying full names!
We have: H, JJ, DJ, DD, AA (or simply ‘uncs’), Tayls, Dave, The Priest, Coms, Laiks, Jamma, RAM, Flash.
Just need to come up with some for the others!!

Yes, the protocol probably means that ‘H’ will be out for two, possibly three games.

Two weeks for concussion isn’t it?

So he’ll probably only miss one league game

Six - you’re forgetting Fulham. OK, only their yoof, but they are EPL level yoof (and who got the better of Shrewsbury)

That honestly killed me. They’d just finished it as Gordon lashed the net off.

I get what you are saying about the gate, it could have been a bit better. Those that turn up for the really big games, a lot of those will probably always do just that though. Hednesford and Rushall both had big games yesterday, I know at least a few that usually go to Walsall went to Rushall.

It’s progress, probably part of the incremental progress really. The occasion was far better for having the ground 2/3 full rather than 2/3 empty like it would have been usually. It’s a start.

We’ve had 20000 ish come rough the gate over the five cup games. On average, it’s less than the league, but not loads when you consider that we haven’t had stellar draws.

In my opinion Bolton sussed us out in the first half and patiently moved the ball around, which, combined with their movement, exposed us quite badly on occasions. We needed Simkin to be on his game, which happily he was, most notably with the fine save from Charles. I think if Bolton had fed Charles more quickly and more often we could have been in serious trouble.

I don’t think playing Adomah in such a forward position worked at all well to start with as he seemed wasted there, however once we started getting the ball into his feet his quality started to show through. We began to create a few decent chances, but overall they had the better of the first half.

What a contrast the second half was as we turned in an impressive performance that almost neutralised the effect that Sheehan had on the game and allowed us to dictate the play. It seemed to me that Bolton weren’t able to establish much telling possession in our half and a lot of credit has to go to all the players who put in so much effort, along with no shortage of organisation and skill.

A thoroughly deserved victory in the end, where good football and hard work prevailed.

The club is hopefully assembling our approximate once in a decade “special” season before our eyes.

I think H is a common nickname for Harry or Harold. I’ve heard a few called H.

Yep, probably Henry as well. I’ve known one or two Harry’s who were called H.

You also see it on a lot of gravestones.

Find that a bit of a strange post.

I think it’s a sign of things to come.

Yes. At the minute the ref has no choice, even if he knows his pisser is being pulled. An outfield player has to go off but a goalie doesn’t. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on.
There would need to be a rule change to stop it it.
