Bradford City (H) - League Two - Sat 14th September, 3pm

Mcentee is a brilliant centre back at this level he could go higher if he can avoid the injuries.

I think/hope he has learnt that lesson. I really dont think Comley gets back in other than off the bench or instead of Stirk. He wants energy players.

Hes built a side around the press, he would be mad to try and shoehorn Comley in.

Word up!
He goes back and forth well.
His crosses are sweet like Candy.
He’s fast, fierce and funny…

How did Stirk get MOM?
In my opinion he had a terrible passing game.
More than half his passes went to Bradford.
Hopefully a one off?

That is one mighty kick he has then if that’s where they end up :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah I like Stirk but his distribution was way off on Saturday . Very poor .

I dont get the criticism of Stirk fine if he gave the ball away but when you are progressive and look to play forward its going to happen, trying to be progressive is so much more harder then passing back or sideways.

Exactly that.

Some of his passing didn’t come off Saturday, especially in the first half. Had it been Comley instead of Stirk, he most often lays it off usually to the center backs who often hoof the ball forward anyway.

The speed we attack at has definitely increased this season, and some of that is down to having a player who looks forward and tries to start attacks, rather than a safe pass every time.

Agreed .

We don’t know what the remit was. I don’t believe that it was to get us promoted in his first season though. More likely that he fitted the way they wanted the club to be run with respect to recruitment, attitude, development of young players, playing style etc.
I agree that the owners will be looking for further improvement this season, which with the further investment made could very well mean a play off place is the target.

Really good result against another team you’d expect to be up there at the end of the season. Aldo its pleasing that so far we’ve followed up defeats at Tranmere and Mk Dons with wins, and not got dragged into a poor run of results yet.

Chuffed for DJ, it’s great to have options up front now.

We spent Saturday watching Kendal Town away at Whitley Bay while up in Newcastle on my stag do. Don’t go to non league games that often but enjoyed it… Kendal lost but at least we got our win!

Why don’t we just call a spade a spade, his passing was dreadful,no need to make excuses for the bloke. It becomes a weakness in the team if he keeps doing it every week.

I always tell myself Bradford should be higher than what they are.
However.
Since the war they’ve been in the top flight twice and the second tier 11 times.
People’s ideas of being a big club are very different.

Stirk is far more adventurous than Comley, Kinsella etc and because of this we will find some of his passes will go astray, he looks to get us up the pitch rather than slow up play and go backwards, at the moment imo he’s critical in our playing style.
I didn’t think he was man of the match Saturday I personally believed it was Harry Williams but I don’t think he was as bad as some have made out

If Stirk’s passing was the desired level of some posters he would not be playing for us in League 2.

Well he hasn’t been doing it every week,

We could try understanding that him being more adventurous with the ball will lead to games where some of his passing goes astray. He isn’t prime Pirlo. He is doing a good job in his position. I guarantee you, you will notice a huge difference in our play if and when Comley returns to that position.

Win the Trivela Cup. “We will design a cup for you that you can’t possibly lose”

I’m only joking, of course.
