Bradford City (H) - Sat 27th Feb, 3pm

I agree with you but he clearly isn’t going to do that, and that in itself is reason enough to hook him. Tyreik Wright played in 3 positions today. He’s a raw talent recovering from injury that with correct management could be a big asset to at least keep us in the league so we can re-group as a football club in the summer.

We need about 10 points to stay up. Any 6/10 league two manager could achieve that in his sleep. I’ve got grave misgivings that Dutton is capable of more than the 0.25 points per game that he is currently averaging.

Fail lost was the only high point this afternoon.

I’d add to that, Elijah scoring the winner for Luton. Pleased for him

How many formation changes so far?

Variations of the same one.

Passing football. That’s what we wanted?

A couple of samples from the Vale forum looks like our ex manager and his old side kick have a knack of not winning games.

We weren’t great but we weren’t total ■■■■ either.

Ref blows for the pen we score. A good point.

Not that we can score penalties either

A mighty depressing time to be a saddlers fan at the moment although I can see progress its not enough to appease me its very obvious why Clarke was so disgruntled losing Adebayo. Its clear to see he is being missed massively, Gordon and lavery just ain’t cutting the mustard. We are going to need to scrape through the remaining games to take us to the end of season, where pomlett has got some very tough decisions to make. Let’s hope he listens to his head rather than his heart… WE NEED A TEAM TO BE PROUD OF. its a complete shambles at the moment.

It will be interesting if we get a cash windfall of rico getting promoted, all eyes will be on pomlett thats when I will fully cast judgement on pomlett. The team needs money spending on but at the same time the recruitment needs to be bang on this time, get in a D.O.F Or manager with contacts.

Well done Eli! Yet another player we don’t sign up on a long term contract who would have been worth at least 3 times what we got for him in 12 months time.
Small minded management from the top yet again.

Is Pomlett just Bonser in disguise?

We had one shot ( header off the post) on target today from a central defender.

That’s about 6 shots on goal in 4 games under Dutton.

If we somehow manage to stay up it will be by default.

Absolute cack again you cant play for 20 minutes and expect to win a game baffling decisions from Dutton today at times as well.Never mind we can lap up Pomletts latest video telling us how great it all is next week.

And to clarify I don’t know if Dutton is the answer but sacking him is a ridiculous decision at this point.

Reactions from another defeat i get it, the Barrow game will be the one we expect 3 points. Another important summer, one the entire club has to get right to arrest the slow slide into the abyss.

Passing is part of the game.

I want a “style of play” in division 4…whereby everyone knows their role. That means defenders that can defend rather than re-enact Monty P’s ministry of funny walks on the dege of the 6 yard box when the balls coming into the opposing side’s ■■■■ house centre-forward.

Midfielders that can do more than 2 yard backwards and sideways passses.

Wide players that can (try to) beat a man, win and deliver set-pieces, and (try to) cross a ball from open play when the chance arises.

Forwards that can have shots and headers on goal and do everything to make division 4 centre-halves afternoon difficult if not a misery rather than the equivalent of a bus driver on a tab break that is the current experience of an opposing defender on a day out at Bescot.

You need some players for that.

This is Clarkes/whoever else involved appalling recruitment.

Adebayo was given a 2 year deal when he signed. That was right in my view as his record up to then had been patchy to be kind.As he improved during this season I have no doubt the club tried to extend the deal but with agents around these days we had little chance of him signing another deal. The club can be blamed for a lot of things but in the post Bosman era clubs like us don’t stand a chance of holding on to players when Championship clubs are sniffing.

Think we need a step change in attitude, coaching, application etc.

We won’t get that with Dutton as he’s just a continuation of the old guard. Pomlett needs to appoint a ball-breaker to come in and get this rabble across the line.

I have always stood up for Pomlett but the longer this current debacle goes on it is more apparent that whilst we might have a Chairman who is probably very good with spreadsheets and balance sheets, he obviously knows nothing about running a football club.

Walsall have not had a style of football since Smith left, and to try and develope one now, mid season, when your best player has gone
and you are on a bad run is utter madness.

I agree.

While I’m having a rant I will not lose any sleep if Mcdonald,Lavery,Gordon, are not at the club next season. Not one of them have stepped upto the plate this season.

Just as an aside, I think today may have been the first time the lack of fans cost us. Having got back into the game we’d have got it going a bit behind the goal for the last ten and there would have been a couple of thousand voices helping the ref with his penalty call. We may well have still missed the pen or even conceded again mind.

We said the same about Whitney, about Keates and now about Clarke. It’s not the managers, it’s the budget. Pay peanuts, get monkeys.
