Bradford City (H) - Sat 27th Feb, 3pm

There is still a lot of games left before the end of the season 16 i think? anything can happen with 48 points up for grabs, i know it looks bleak and my money would be on us fighting relegation on current form.
But our youngsters showed some real promise today, they certainly showed a couple of the so called pros up, Mcdonald and Gordon to name 2, it’s a pity we couldn’t loan a couple of decent strikers from somewhere.

I wholeheartedly agree with you in regard to McDonald, but Gordon put a shift in, always does.

If the budget is so low how can they afford to pay.two Directors £190000 a year plus £11000 in pension contributions?

Yea you can’t fault his effort i suppose, i was just disappointed with his overall performance.

As I’ve said previously, I’m not having McDonald this season. He’s been a big disappointment.

Gordon had his moments but is still a long way away from showing the form he has shown previously.

Oh and Melbourne is decent to :joy:

I am genuinely going to be staking on us to be relegated. I don’t think it matters who is in charge now for this season.

We could have given another 2 year deal though WS1?
I see absolutely no difference with the current regime to the previous one.
Saying that I believe Bonser would have invested in a squad to get us out of this ■■■■ league as he did when we came straight back up as Champions.

As things stand.

I’m still genuinely amazed that having been a director of the club for some time he would take on being chairman/ Owner without having any money?

Ego trip gone horribly wrong?

Honestly can see us going down

We just dont look like we have any goals in us.

Painful, particularly when you consider the lack of quality and size of clubs in this division.

Mate most of the clubs above us now couldn’t lace our boots as near as 5-6 years ago, in fact if we had lost to the likes of Salford and Forest Green it would have been seen as a giant killing

Harsh words indeed

As hard as it is to believe, there are at least two teams worse than us in this division.

Last ten games form table. We will be close.

Barrow have picked up a bit and they’re the ones who’ll catch us. Can’t see where we are going to win again this season.

The one saving grace from this division and football in general, is there is always someone worse than us :joy:

Barrow are a better team than their position suggests. I think they are down there because they don’t have the infrastructure of a league side. Fortunately they have 11 points to make up on us. If we can somehow contrive to avoid defeat against them when we play them in a couple of weeks (anyone know why we are playing them on Friday night btw?) then I think we are safe from them.

Grimsby and Southend are utterly dire (unless playing top of the table for some unknown reason :joy:), I’m not sure their defence even bother turning up sometimes. For me they are the 2 going down.

Fail are also worse than us, as evidenced by the fact we’ve picked up 6 points against them. However I do think they actually want to stay up, seeing as they hammered Grimsby 3-0 and Southend 5-1. They will stay up, just.

Anyone know what’s happened with Colchester? I thought they were one of the better teams in this division. I think they will turn it around too.

So Grimsby and Southend down for me. Will be fuming if we somehow lose away to both of them.

The big difference between Pomlett and Bonser is Bonser understood that you needed a few quality players to survive. He trusted Paul Taylor to get those players and generally it worked. Pomlett thinks you can offload your best players, keep slashing costs and budgets and still get success. In summary he thinks he can run a football club like a business. He’s mistaken. I personally hope things come to a head and he leaves because we are going nowhere under his leadership.

I think Colchester are 14 without a win. They’ve appointed Tiptree’s manager purely as their season has been ended due to covid. That’s pretty desperate to be fair.
