Brian Dutton

I am beginning to think that he meant he is just mocking us :joy:

Barrie Blower was emailing businessmen in the mid 80’s? Blimey, he was a man ahead of his time :grinning:

It worries me that Pomlett sees this as the answer.

We have enough turkeys on the pitch, without bringing more to the club!!

A quick bit of adding up shows that since August 2016, we’ve played a total of 204 league matches

W: 60
D: 61
L: 83

And we still haven’t bottomed out. I’m honestly surprised that there have been that many wins, it feels like nowhere near that. What a depressing few years this really has been. I know we’ve said this time and time again over the years, but this summer feels like the most significant in 30 years. And that’s if we’ve survived.

EDIT: And what bothers me is that this has come at the worst possible time when we’re going to be financially knackered after the last 12 months. I don’t see much light at the end of the tunnel here.

I do not think that we would be doing any better if DC had stayed. This his his mess, not Dutton“s.
From what I have seen I reckon we will be OK.

He needs to be a bit more honest then.

No more promotion talk every September but rather we’ll build slowly over next 12 months with some young players getting regular starts. 2-3 years ago Crewe in this exact position and now they’re a solid league 1 top half team again with 5-6 excellent young players (sold a couple in last window).

Excellent to see Perry start today. Hopefully he’ll get another 10 starts this season. Need to pick up some results but if that happens then I’d like to see Leak get some starts at the back as Sadler obviously ain’t long term option and not bothered whether Clarke and Scarr are here next season, would rather move both on.

Not saying these young lads are amazing but at least then the fanbase can see a bit of ā€œidentityā€ developing again in the club ethos as was started around a decade ago.

Big problem is no decent prospects in final third so really need to spend a good chunk of whatever the budget is on a good forward or two, no more scrambling around on last day of window begging clubs to send their youth forwards for free, really what was the point of getting that Reid guy?

I thought last season was the shedding weight season but this one has turned out even worse and no one can be confident as things stand it won’t be even more turgid next season.

Agree. But if he was a bit more realistic he would get dogs abuse too.

Also agree on how Its impressive how we’ve managed to bloat the squad even more. No lessons learnt.

Sam Perrys solid 90 mins makes Clarkes reign look even more a waste of time

Which is why I’m behind giving a young coach time to develop 3 or 4 players. We currently won’t be able to go to sign 11 players good enough to win the league.

Tragic but true. Develop. Let’s build something

He played well today and would have had more influence if he hadn’t have got that early yellow which in my opinion was not a yellow at all.He needs a run of games now keep the lad in this starting line up simple as.

He was unlucky to get it early. Was a bit rash though.

Less said about my opinions on today’s ref the better.

Let’s just say he was poor and leave it at that :+1:t2::laughing:

This is our second season in league two following our relegation.
A club the size of Plymouth spent six seasons in this league before their promotion Crewe took four attempts before they got promoted back to league one and Vale are spending their fourth season in succession at this level.
We were fortunate to have the basis of a great squad when Richard Money took charge.

I’ve seen us climb out of this Division twice

There are many characteristics that Nicholl and Money both had

Great defensively
Great organisers

Nicholl took the side KennyH had put together and managed it out the Division

If Pomlett has any sense he’ll get Richard Money in now and start building some foundations for the Club

Let Richard Money do what’s needed. He ticks all the boxes.

Hope it ain’t Kelly. His commentary is clueless

Lets get Darren Wrack down to do the job

The same Richard Money, who was once manager here? Maybe he doesn’t want to return to this work. Since November 2015 he managed … fourteen games in two clubs.

Could anyone confidently name our next starting 11 and formation? … complete mess

Yes that’s the one.

If he’s took on the wrong job or doesn’t like it he wraps in and walks away

I’d like to think he’s out the game and would jump at the chance

Next to no chance I know but can only hope
