iFollow Comentator kept saying how good the ref performance was

I don’t think he was too bad to be honest. Maybe a bit card shy, but generally made the right decisions. Think he missed one occasion where a drop ball should have been ours but compared to most refs thats pretty minor.

Their 2 big lumps at the back were elbowing, barging and pulling shirts all game and the ref let it go. Did make me laugh though when Jamma grabbed their number 5 round the neck early on. The lump stayed on the deck and was crying about it.

Hmm. We were doing as much of that as they were. Looked like he pretty much got it right depending on which party was at fault. Maybe could have booked their centre half for a pretty rough push on Lowe on the half way line, but still gave the free kick.

I’m not sure we can argue Matt should be in the side for his “occupying of defenders” (which basically means wrestling them) and also get uptight when defenders give it back.

Yeah, Jamma is an expert at this and often gets away with loads of shirt pulls etc

Terrible game. We looked miles off our level. It really felt like a deep mid winter game, pitch heavy and baltic. BUT as this team seems to do, got back into it and didnt give up.

Dunno why people are arguing on here we were miles off our usual levels last night nothing wrong with saying that in my opinion lucky to get a point.

We were. No width; Barrat and LG were passengers really. No creativity from Earing through the middle. Stirk was slow and got robbed 4/5x, Allen was rinsed a few times.

Defo not our level.

Looks like the second has been awarded to Okagbue, so that’s one score and two assists for our last three goals.

As for the ref I think the comment about been card shy is a fair point. I also feel that he was let down by his lines men.
The long throws were often over the line (just) the one which led to the equaliser was at least a foot over the line. The second goal Gordon raised his had for a foul in the previous contact where the player played the man (Allen I think) before the ball he had a word with the linesman after too but he should have played to the whistle, his pause and appeal meant he was slightly out of position.

As for the game midfield changes didn’t work but after Saturday fresh legs were needed. Bromley are what they are they won’t change there season will depend on if second time round teams have learnt and figure them out it terms of how to play against them.
We go again

In case anyone hadn’t noticed, Bromley were set up in a similar way to us. Our best results seem to come against teams who keep possession and we let them do that and try to get the ball forward quickly when we get it, which is what they were doing. It is no coincidence that we do less well when we have more of the possession.

If we carry on getting an average of 2 points a game, we will be promoted. There are going to be more difficult weeks than the last one before the end of the season.

He doesn’t even hesitate, he’s stuck between two players because Allen has been sucked completely out of position. He did play to the whistle and did force their player to a position that should have been enough to prevent the goal, but for a pretty sensational finish.

It is easy to get downbeat after a poor performance, and I think most agree it was just that.

Over a season you aren’t going to be at your best every week. I was thinking back to previous promotions and they all have games where the team just weren’t at it. I was thinking about the 06/07 season, think it was Rochdale at home, we were bloody awful, Ince dropped a corner straight in the net and we never looked like scoring all afternoon. Scott Dan scores a worldy in the dying moments and rescues us a point, which in the end was a valuable point in winning the title.

Who knows what that point last night could mean at the end of the season. I’m sure there will be plenty more ups and downs before the end of the season. I think last night highlighted just how important Jellis has been, and Lakin is a much more useful player than he is probably given credit for.

It actually reminded me of when Stevenage came here a few years back.

We absolutely battered them for 97 minutes, they equalised in the 98th. Stevenage went up automatically that season. Hopefully that was our version.

You can have your foot over the line aslong as it’s not your entire foot.

Harry Williams does it every time he takes a throw in, nothing wrong with it.

Anybody would think we’re better with less possession :person_shrugging:  :smirk:

In a number of times and especially the one which led to the goal the whole of the foot was over the line, of course those were only those which I was close too. Not sure linesmen are even looking for it these days they seem more focused on possible issues with player contact.

I’ve said this a few times this season, but if I were an opposition manager playing against us - I’d let us have the ball - especially at home.

Nobody bothers about foul throws these days. I think BAGS10 is right but do you still have to have both feet on the ground?

Last night highlighted the importance of Jellis and Lakin.
I don’t think Hall had a bad game, but Jellis is more effective, both with and without the ball.
I think we underestimate the value of Lakin’s relationship with Gordon and Allen. Not sure what the problem was but there were gaps down our left and a lot of pinball. Maybe Lakin is better in possession than Earing?
