Charlton Athletic (H) F A Cup 2nd round, Nov 30th 3pm

I think he’s been done a massive favour playing an aging winger in his usual position to be honest. I like Matt, and he 's a lovely guy who does a lot in his own time for fans, so I’m not going to lay into him, I just think unfortunately he doesn’t offer enough in 2024.

We’ve got a perfectly good striker, sat on the bench, who for some reason people have genuinely convinced themselves he does nothing but score (and when I say people, I include the manager who for some reason only chucks him on when we really really need a goal, which you would think would tell him something). For my money, he’s better on the ball than Matt, a better finisher, and he might not be as physical or as good at hold up play, but he’s sure as shit better at it than Adomah.

The stats look quite even mate it’s just that our keeper didn’t come for a cross and Comley played an absolutely shocking back pass.

Poor first half, but it’s happend a couple of times this season where we’ve come back from losing positions.

Not the end of the world if we don’t win today.

Bigger concern for me is Jellis going off, hopefully nothing serious.

Yea mate that’s what gives me hope. Nothing about them that smacks of a class above. We look off it. Changes needed to spark us into action

You’ll probably have to wait another 30 minutes before that happens

Jamille Matt replaces Uncle Albert, 46 minutes…

I’ve only got the commentary, so it’s difficult to say, but do we realise we can’t play in the same way when Jamma isn’t there? That we need more passes in along the ground. (It also again sounds like that Albert is wasted as an out and out forward, but that might be connectedto my first point.)

Two booked now.
The ref has booked one of their substitutes for kicking a ball that had gone out onto the pitch to prevent Lowe taking a quick throw.

Taylor Allen yellow card, 57 min

Charlton’s 2nd yellow, 60 min (Hylton)

Time for DJ

Should have been on at the start. Sads biggest mistake this season is his problem with DJ. Un professional for any management to have personal problems cloud judgement.

I don’t disagree and I don’t see why DJ didn’t get a start here, but without anyone to make it stick upfront we looked lost first half.

Hopefully the Adomah up top experiment stops now.

A bit better second half but on the whole that’s looking like two well below par performances with two real crucial games coming up.

If it’s any consolation, Dingles 2 Bournemouth 4 (74 min) … and of those 4 goals 3 were pelanties

Injuries and flat performance is a worry going into a very important week

Keepers had a mare there he needs to work on punching balls and commanding his area.
