My first game of the season this Saturday and, with the way we’ve performed so far, I’m expecting an exciting match with plenty of goals and 3 points in the bag come 5 o’clock or thereabouts.
So - nil nil it is then…………
Miracles might happen and George Miller scores from 3 yards in front of the Poundland stand.
Expecting a win, but I’ve got a feeling Flynn might do a number on us. I think there’s a bit if niggle between him and Sadler - be interesting to see if they shake hands.
Think if we get an early goal we will win though.
Flynn will come with a negative mindset. Hopefully with our new strikers and goals from all over, we will create enough to put them to bed
2-1 to the saddlers
Interesting i thought Flynn liked him?
We Need to play our game and not be bought into there’s and we have been guilty of that under sadler
George Miller is nothing to worry about he needs 10 chances to put one in the back of the net.
Don’t underestimate him. His a similar player to flash always worked hard but was a lot better at finishing .
His a decent player at this level and has scored goals since leaving us . He is good for league 2 and we can’t give him space
Easier said than done, if Cheltenham play like Tranmere did it could be a very difficult and frustrating game. I’m sure Flynn has seen a video of the Tranmere game so it could be more of the same. We are missing a midfielder who can open up defences.
Yeah I find that odd for Flynn to do that but maybe he’s realised he is National league level.
Flynn quote on Gloucestershire Live:
“I have watched Walsall today and I thought they were excellent. They were quite similar to Wimbledon, in terms of flooding the box with set plays, crosses, long throws and I can’t believe they lost. It’s going to be a really tough afternoon next week.”
I have nothing against any of the ex-Walsall lads there. Got to think positively on this one, but there’s a chance it goes like Tranmere.
The roar of the crowd will make the difference - went for a draw in the poll - now defo going for a Walsall smash and grab
I know I was worried about this before Tuesday and it didn’t come to be, but I worry about the lack of experience at the back with out the organisation skills of DD and The Priest. This is compounded by there front two of Taylor and Bowman experienced strikers with skills of the dark arts
If I remember correctly there was an undercurrent of tension between them when Flynn was in charge of Swindon.
I cannot remember exactly but you could certainly have interpreted what was said in the managers interviews as less than complimentary.
You have jinxed it now mate
Lovely words from Flynn and personally I hope he doesn’t get a bad reception. I think he tried his best but it was a difficult time for the club. I hope he does well at Cheltenham (tomorrow aside) and both clubs are celebrating May 2025
I don’t think he will tbf . Likeable fella and always tried his best , never heard a bad word against him from our supporters in the main .
