Cheltenham Town (H) - League 2 - Sat 31st August, 3:00pm

I think Earing always performs better when he comes on as sub. Is that a fitness issue?

I think a lot of players do for us because of the way we play, tiredness will always be an issue at times. Its 100 percent all the time, especially in midfield as we cannot keep the ball.

Which is fine if you can refresh it.

Lakin was superb today. A proper team player performance.

Great result today , I really thought we could of ended up missing our chances and coming away with nothing , but yet again we dug deep never gave up and got our reward,I was one of those who doubted saddler , still think he’s learning his trade but very much proving a lot of us wrong who doubted him.keep it up, smiles tonight and a hit of excitement

I thought we fully deserved the victory which came after 3 key players were injured in the first half. It does seem unfair that you cannot bring on substitutes on more than 3 occasions especially when those 3 occasions were caused by injury. Anyway a good battling performance highlighted by a very good “team” goal which made it 2-0.
The injury situation is worrying especially at the back but we have quality in the side and more importantly heart and energy. Midfield excellent today …well done everyone.

With about 5 minutes left, even though we weren’t under the cosh as such, I am there biting all my nails, stomach turning inside out, and our George said to me " You know the bit when the whistle blows and you’ve won and your stomach goes back to normal, I like that bit" Made me laugh but I had never really considered all this time his little mind goes through all the same anxiety I do. Bless him, he really gets it.

That one is for you my little man, happy birthday and Up The Saddlers. I like these happy Saturday evenings.

For the last few years we’ve really lacked a quality midfielder, some how we seem to have five of them now and it should be six when we see what Hall is like.

Even with such an inexperienced backline today of Okagbue, Williams and Allen, the midfield puts in such unbelievable amounts of work to protect them.

Already looking forward to MK, more the fact to try and get our own back for the heavy loss there last season.

So glad to get Flynn out of the way (he will be sacked by the the time we go to Wadden Rd), 3 points in the bag and the March to 83 continues.

21 wins
11 Draws
10 Defeats

We’ve got this

May only be 6 games into the season but something good is happening at WS1 . 3 wins in the league , 2 good cup ties , 1 unlucky defeat. The wind is blowing all good things our way this year .

True I apologise
It does show an area we need to improve though with conditioning

Wonder what team they will put out tuesday any thoughts

Whisper it quietly. Something special is happening in WS1.

Credit to MS. He is building a team. He doesnt throw anyone under the bus “Flynn Style”. He just goes about his work quietly replacing bits that need to be replaced or upgraded.

Well done MS. Credit where it is due. I am now a believer.

Come on you blooming Saddlers.

This bunch of lads deserve our backing

I think we played well on a match filled with awkward bits - especially the injuries.

Thought Barrett was fantastic down the right and has done more than Knowles’ entire last season already.

Think him, Jellis’ and Williams’ greatest compliment is that you’d never pick them as the lads signed from non-league. They’ve seemingly made the step up effortlessly (not to say they won’t get caught out at times).

With Lakin, he seemed desperate to make something happen and I think that’s why he was lashing at shots and trying to ping passes about on the fly. Sadler just needs to tell him to calm down a bit, it’ll come.

Honest as the day is long Lakin, having to play several different positions yesterday, desperate and willing to do everything he can for the team. Good lad.

Are we allowed to take she wee’s into the ground now? Maybe an idea to increase the commercial revenue streams. Fiver each.

Why did i click your link :rofl::rofl:

Fully deserved victory with fantastic performances all over the pitch, we had to play from 48 minutes with no tactical substitutes, incidentally credit must go to Sadler for getting these right when called upon, something he failed at many many times last year.
Those that aren’t watching us are really missing out as we’re playing some tidy stuff and long may it continue, we look so much better with a proper wing back in Barrett and not forgetting lakin’s performance at left wing back when the switch happened just after half time, he looked like he’d played their all his life.
The defence looks solid (even with a few missing) as does Simo in goal whose very vocal and helps organise those in front of him, he will go onto bigger things, the midfield looks balanced even with the enforced changes and tells us the strength of it when Earing is on the bench.
The strikers constantly harass the opposition especially Matt ensuring we’re pressing a lot higher up the pitch and the midfield aren’t never far away supporting them in their quest, Lowe looks an handful and providing he says injury free and stoke leave him here for the season he will surpass 20 goals.
I said a few weeks back the good times are coming back to our club and nothing I’ve seen this season will make me change my mind, we have the best chance we’ve ever had to push on and get out this division and I believe it’s our year had a cheeky £25 EW at 25/1 few days ago, well done everyone involved in assembling this squad together, looks like we’ve actually learnt that square pegs don’t fit in round holes and vice versa, Up The Saddlers.
