Cheltenham Town (H) - League 2 - Sat 31st August, 3:00pm

Certainly seems that way, teams are seeing us a threat and playing defensively. It may just be the nature of the opposition so far though.

I would fancy us against any side that attacked us though.

There is no reason for us to be scared of any team this season from what I’ve seen. Even the better teams we will come up against we are more than capable of at the very least matching them from what I’ve seen, but there will be many teams that won’t fancy facing us this season.

We still have Daniels, Comley, DJ, Hall and Cleary to feature yet this season, there should be real competition to get into the 18, never mind the starting 11, when we get some players back.

Looks like we have a very good squad and the only thing that I can see screwing us over is injuries.I’ve never known anything like what we’ve had to deal with injury wise these last what? 3 seasons?

All teams have it at some point really, its how you deal with it that keeps you going. Usual suspects in Farq and McEntee is very disappointing though.

We we are being very protective over Earing , which is understandable.

There is a difference between truth , and opinion.

Can confirm I saw Sadler buying many bags of packing peanuts to craft a modern protective suit for players to combat the injury list.

It is interesting listening to Sadler’s interview compared to Flynn’s. Flynn is having a go at the players and even naming one, telling them they need to grow up fast whereas Sadler never calls anyone out even when we lost. Better man management in my opinion as players aren’t going to be afraid of making mistakes. Well done Sadler.

Finally we have a team to be proud of. Long may it continue.

I agree with Flynn, this Walsall team are a team of men. Easy to say, harder to do. Well done men.:ok_hand::clap:

Based on what I saw of that Cheltenham team, I’d build a team around Kinsella. Pony.

Yes but don’t forget there are people on here who just seem to think that every player who doesn’t play for WFC is better than any player who does .
We have a decent side why people can’t just get behind the players and the manager without trying to "justify every Tom , dick and harry who in their “opinion” is better than what we have is beyond me.

100%.
That’s how you build a team. You can still be ruthless without publicly shaming players.

As Roosevelt famously said, speak softly and carry a big stick.

If he can iron out his occasional tendency to be a little complacent, he has all the attributes to be a proper player.

For all I think mcentee and priest are good players they are such liability with there injuries I don’t think we can justify there wages again next year for at most 20-25 games a season . They are both injured constantly and earing is very close to being in that same group

Have to say i was fuming at first when it was headed down i thought he messed it up, but it was a delightful knock across the goal. :grinning:

A little harsh.

Earing looks a better player mate sorry but he just does.

Respect your opinion, and Earing is a decent player.
But that doesn’t make Lakin a poor player.
In my “opinion” Lakin is a absolutely solid Lge 2 player, miles better than anything they had today.

Found plenty of space today first half and spaffed his shots. Nothing to cry about, he got in good positions he will score goals.

Earing is just a better player though. If he can keep himself fit. I really cannot sing from the high hills more how good i think Earing could be.
