Chesterfield (H) February 15th, 3pm

Loved the announcer on the tannoy baiting the Chesterfield fans at the end

Massive win

I think I understand how a forum works perfectly, and posting we’ve blown it or Sadler is useless is nonsense then as it is now thanks very much

Just got in and checked the thread, love reading the posts back! We’re shit, Dave is shit, Sadler is shit… good header down by Dave, good subs/team talk by Sadler… proud to be a Saddler! On to Morecambe… always believe! UTS!

I agree - he deserves our respect and patience. I have never said he is clueless, or questioned his coaching and man-management ability. But, that doesn’t mean some of his decisions shouldn’t be questioned, such as his almost criminal under utilisation of DJ. But, he deserves to win the league and get manager of the year. It will also be interesting to see which Saddlers’ players make the team of the year.

He was sat next to me and @Paulus68 , would have nutted him if I knew he was going to later on put 10 mins if stoppage time up

Yep. We’re all geniuses with the benefit of hindsight. I’ll never get digging people out for reacting in real time.

It’s not reacting in real time that’s the issue it’s posting absurd nonsense that doesn’t really help.

Anyway I’ll leave it there doesn’t feel like this debate is going anywhere and I’ll just enjoy the evening. I wish you a pleasant evening also

I mean, that’s exactly what you did. But enjoy

See I disagree on the DJ situation. I don’t think he suits Sadlers style, great option when we are behind or going for a winner though. There is then the question of why he signed him in the first place.

My original point wasn’t aimed at you by the way.

The ref made up for the time he didn’t add on for the first half . Not really legal, but I don’t care. I’ve just got home absolutely shattered . Nice to meet Belph. Good lad.

First of all I thought once we went ahead our defence was excellent. They all played their part especially Dave when moving to CB. Lets hope that bodes well for the tough away games to come.
Secondly it was a good team performance but Harrison was MOM . He gave great support to Jamma who scored a very good goal. UTS

I agree with you on this. It’s fine to question his decisions when we lose but theres been some downright over the top comments about him after a bad run probably more so on social media than on here but certain posters on here (thankfully a minority) can’t wait to lay the boot in.

Feels like such an important win today. Fair play to the lads to see that out.

We rode our luck at times, especially with that missed sitter in the first half. I remember thinking as soon as he missed it I hope we make them pay for that.

Feeling exhausted now but the beer is going down well tonight…UTS!

How many points do we actually need to go up? 80 points?

Sadler’s thoughts

Yes, I know what you mean about DJ not suiting Mat’s playing style, but to drop him after he scored twice against Salford was a strange decision. And yes, I know you weren’t referring to me in your our posts. UTS

Delighted and relieved with 3 points against a decent Chesterfield team.

But lets not forget that the first half was horrendously dreadful - we cannot keep just not bothering in the first half and hope at half time we are still in the game. That miss from 6 yards by their forward in the first half was inexplicable and the game would have been over by half time had it gone in. Those now hailing Sadler would surely be playing a different tune had that gone in! The defending was so bad for the first goal and that miss that the battery on my laptop would run out before I finished going over it.
Second half we were back to the old Walsall which we saw a glimpse of in the 10 mins before we scored at Colchester and then fell apart.
Harrison was very good and I like the look of him. If Gordon had not been injured we all know that he would have played and the result could have been so different. Delighted to see the big lad score at the end he looks like he really wants to do well.
We could have lost this and if that sitter had gone in the atmosphere in the ground would have been bad. Well done though to the supporters who gave the team a lift in the second half. Matt was class yet again. Hopefully this is the platform we needed to exorcise the last few games from our system.
UP THE SADDLERS

Yeah I can’t see what the issue is. Some folk defending the right to post nonsense even after we’ve won and have a 8 point gap.truly baffling.
