I couldn’t enjoy that game today, not because it wasn’t a good game. After we went 2-1 up, I can’t remember the last time I was so nervous, it was draining. We were superb in the second half, looked more like ourselves. Could have been a different story if their player scored right in front of the goal, or Williams didn’t make a superb recovery block,in the first half but that’s football.
Harrison may just be the signing that gets us over the line. I thought he was superb today. Would have been my man of the match.
Whatever has been said about this team, they wanted that so bad today, the work they all put in was off the scales. 10 minutes injury time did nothing to calm my nerves, but we got there and that is what matters.
Me and my boys are very happy this evening, in fact I can’t remember the last time I was this happy. It feels like a season defining win.
What I would say is I think the tweak Sadler made at half time made a real difference. Instead of playing a flat midfield 3 he moved Jellis into more of a 10 role with Stirk and Larkin playing as a pair behind him. It meant we had a better press and filled some of the huge gap that was often evident in the 1st half between the midfield and front two.
Watched it abroad today. First match I’ve missed aside from MK away I think this season may have been one other, but in the week I was relieved I needed a break haven’t enjoyed the games last few weeks with so much pressure. What a win that was second half we were great, the confidence started flowing a bit. Substitutions were used correctly and the three strikers to score will be great for their confidence. Feels like we’re back. UTS
Great to see the second half reaction and the reaction of our fans. Loved the atmosphere and players and fans as one.
Chesterfield should have been 2 0 up at half time. We got a break there though and took advantage.
Levi and Ellis look like superb business for us.
Thought Albert was great when he came on. He pressed and harried with the energy of a man half his age. Larkin my motm for similar reasons.
A couple of criticisms though. Conner doesn’t look like the same player. Needs a rest. Adomah for me but Weir showed he might be able to do a job there today. Charlton lad too.
Looked like the biggest player has a free header for their goal. Switching off like that is what’s costing us and I think we’re crying out for an experienced head in defence.
8 points ahead and Wimbledon have trips to Fleetwood and Colchester coming up. If the wombles win there they deserve to be champions as they’ve been good all season and I reckon them and Notts are the main rivals.
Delighted about today - Chesterfield are a decent team. UTS.
