Chris Hussey signs

Gordon almost lost his foot and had no preseason. I thought he did so well considering. A fully fit Gordon with preseason behind him is a different player

Not sure whether this has already been mentioned but could this signing be partly influenced by Dan Watson, our GK coach? Maybe he could have a word with Ryan Broom too!

How wrong you are!!!. Support Chris doing his Education whereas feel zero connection with Sadler plugging 8 million proporties in Little Aston for his mate Paul Partridge. On the signing itself we’ve certainly signed far worse in my opinion and the Stockport fans wanting him to stay tells us quite alot

Hussey owns a business. What are your thoughts?

I’ve heard he’s massively into Games Workshop stuff as well, you can’t tell me he’s got his full focus on his football whilst worrying if his Elf wizard can match a spell with only one dice roll. Shocking stuff.

Don’t even say that jokingly …

Mildly pleasing signing, I hope (m)any good games left in him. And it could mean, one centre back is leaving.

I’d be hoping he might play alongside him in a 3 at the back, where Manny played tbh.
I seem to remember him playing at the back for Stockport when they played us at the bezzla last season and was impressed with how composed their defence looked that day. Hopefully he’ll bring a bit of that and be better on the ball as, tbh, our centre halves mostly had no clue what to do with the round thing!!

I always seem to say this for any signing over 30 as they always seem to turn out diabolical but I think this is a clever signing.

Guy has quite a few promotions on his CV and been a regular at two of them. Will know Evans straight away from their Cheltenham days and 30 games for Stockport last season shows he’s far from finished.

Yeah he’ll slot into the LCB position in a 3 man defence I reckon. Mind you I thought the same about Ward so let’s hope history dosen’t repeat itself…

This club generally dosen’t have any issue getting in competent defenders for league 1-2 in last 5-6 years so getting the attacking positions right will yet again make or break next season so will reserve judgement until what turns up in next month.

Solid LCB for us, classy left foot and good on the ball for a defender.
A Stockport fans view.

Just worries me lack of pace seen to many at Walsall over the years .hope the manager can play him in a way that’s not exposed .like a lot of other things about him though so will reserve judgement.

The key then is him one side, Donovan the other and then you can afford to have a McEntee type young loanee learning his trade alongside them.

Or McEntee himself given Stirk will surely be starting every week so you have him, Comley, Hutchinson and Riley all as credible regular starting CMs.

My thoughts. Go about your life as a footballer do some things to make you and family financially secure. Would I expect someone contracted to my company as an emoyee to plaster themself in newspapers articles such ā€˜My life as a city Buinessman’

Of course I wouldn’t

But hey this is a bit boring now tbh as I’ve said my view

Think Hussey is a good signing to be honest

Hope that explains!!!

You do often see older players, especially defenders, whose legs have not quite yet gone completely but have lost most of any pace they may have had, who make up for a lack of mobility with experience and a few extra tricks up their sleeves than when they were young snotties.

You did ask lol. Maybe test the water with an employer. Land the 2 page saddleresque article on the managers desk as a surprise ā€˜I’m a successful city Businessman’. Then see what response you get!!!

I’d love to know!!!

I know he’s not Italian but there are plenty of good examples of international defenders who had incredible careers in their more advanced years. Personally, I think it’s a solid signing and left footers always provide a bit of balance to the back line.

Looks a solid signing to me. People keep saying a lack of pace but look at the likes of Viveash, Neil Pointon, Andy Tillson etc… they weren’t blessed with pace but they could read the game

I would usually really look forward to the fixtures being released. I feel like I am losing interest.

First two signing are at best - average, L2 mid-table fodder.

I am sure ā€˜Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion and The Villa’ are quaking in their boots at our ambitious.

We are a joke.

Different game now.
