Colchester (H) - League Two - Sat 28 September, 12.30pm

I agree. I am trying not to get too carried away, but it is hard not too. We have better players sitting on the bench than we have had on the pitch over the past 5 years.

There are little combinations and partnerships building all over the pitch. I especially like Jellis and Barrett down the right. The togetherness in the team is there for all to see.

We have a great chance this season.

We have played teams in rich veins of form, Salford & Colchester. The way we are playing we shouldnā€™t need to fear anyone i.e Huddersfield Birmingham Leicester

Thatā€™s quite incredible that all 8 teams weā€™ve played are in the bottom half.

But I think that on paper our next six games are easier than our previous six.

Having said that we have more away games than home after Xmas, could be an issue.

Yeah that is more why I posted it than to put a downer on Walsall.

You neighbour belted him? Fantastic

Bradford Salford and Colchester would be in the top half if we didnā€™t beat them

That is correct

In the 2015/16 play off league one year we had 17 points after 8 games.

I donā€™t think Bradford were far behind us when we played them.

Can we get a bored owl

I get what your saying 100% and while the results are going our way and teams not taking first half opportunities against us you canā€™t argue with the tactics .if results change then we may have to look again Josh being out hasnā€™t helped the situation for other options .

Good of Wolves to round the day off nicely.

To be fair, one reason theyā€™re in the bottom half is because they have played us .

Thatā€™s the most impressive win of the season so far for me.

Taking into consideration a really intense game on Tuesday, the early kick-off and a Col U side that had a full week of prep, this should give us a lot of confidence moving forward.

They had a very clear game plan of trying to start fast and put us under pressure. Despite the fact they spent pretty much the first ten minutes camped inside our half, we didnā€™t give them even half a chance at our goal. The way we locked it down in the second half too was so refreshing and it makes it so much easier to get a result when you donā€™t give up any chances.

Really proud of the team, thereā€™s a great togetherness and Sadler deserves a lot of credit for sticking to his beliefs and building a team in his style.

First half felt like we were lagging from the Leicester game with the misplaced passes and inability to get much going outside our half, however, we didnā€™t give them a sniff.

Then Jellis takes a ball down like heā€™s going to gently caress it like a lover, turns out and smashes it in.

I think we saw today what may have happened if weā€™d have nailed the penalty against Tranmere.

Second half was very comfortable but needed that second. The defence were brilliant again, as were the attackers for not letting Colchester move forward.

They seem like good lads as well.

The amount of assists from Connor Barrett is astounding . He really makes things happen .

As much as I like Liam Gordon for his all round game , his end product is very poor in comparison

As for Tom Knowles , forget about it , Barrett is a 400% improvement

Struggled to get going today yet never looked in danger if that makes sense.
The lad they had on their left called Edwards was there threat and when he was subbed on 50ish minutes the game was only going to go one way, fair play to Barrett too for having to walk a tightrope after picking up that late first half yellow.
Some good performances again from Barrett, Williams, Stirk and Lowe, all 8/10 and the others solid 7s, this team are a real good bunch of lads and credit has to go to Sadler and his staff for assembling them, also Trivela for backing him despite the rumoured budget cuts.
These are the sort of games weā€™d rollover and get battered in the past but not no more, these lads show character and never say die attitude, football is becoming pleasing to watch again.
Happy weekend fellow Saddlers.
