Hear, hear to that. He’s a likeable guy and he has forged a great team spirit. Fair play to him, I hope he takes us up automatically.
Their left winger was shit hot and I think if he had stayed on could have turned the game in their favour.
Sign him up sadler.
Fair play to everyone who made a long, and unfulfilled, journey from Essex. People like that are the lifeblood of our game and deserve our respect.
Yes but day we shut um up.
Owura Edwards. Hadn’t heard of him before today. He beat Barrett for pace at one point.
We day arf.
Love the man but no way he was MOTM…seems churlish to criticise but Barrett was constantly involved at both ends of the pitch…and to great effect.
There is a great blend to this squad.
Great to see players put their bodies on the line when defending, I think someone mentioned it above. The desire to keep the ball out of the net is so clear.
The team has an obvious work ethic, which I think is part of the blueprint for Sadler’s team. There is some real quality and technique out there too though. You could look to the likes of Adomah for that but the way Jellis pulled that ball down and finished it today is a skill worthy of a higher level. Same last week when Lowe pulled the ball down out of the sky to set up Lakin. Also the intelligence and teamwork of Lowe to set up Earing when we were 3-0 up rather than shoot himself, brilliant stuff.
This is a good team who are willing to put in the hard yards. Good times ahead I think.
I remember him playing against us before for Grimsby on the first game of the covid season.
A mention for the Colchester supporters.
They usually bring a 100 or so for 3pm kick off to the bezla
Over 300 today for an early kick off and a long drive . Which can only be applauded.
For them to bring so many they must have been feeling positive about there team and rightly so a bit unlucky to lose by 4 tbh .they are a decent team and will finish top half I think .
But we swept them aside which says so much about our team and what’s happening at the fortress.
Could only watch the second half today due to work, What a fantastic 45 mins it was though. Barrett, Stirk and Jellis were both fantastic second half. Massive credit to our recruitment team as they seem to have found plenty of gems and Sadler is building it superbly.
Yes very good had the beating of Barrett but thought Okagbue done a great job of backing him up certainly there most dangerous player and big plus for us he didn’t appear second half .theres no doubt we’ve rode our luck a few times in match’s this season but the big plus is even if we do concede a sloppy goal this team definitely looks like it can come back the spirit and resolve is definitely there .and the bench is as strong as I’ve see for a long time .
I agree totally. They are real supporters and deserve credit….and they had the chance to see 4 good goals!
Bang on.
Really good, professional and grounded interview.
We have always had a hard working team under Flynn and Clarke Aswell. But this time we have talent and a strong defence to go with it
Thanks for the apology
Matt would almost definitely be in every other team in our leagues starting 11 .
Said before the Leicester game if there’s one player who can match them physically and athletically in our side it would be Barrett and he did he’s one who has the attributes to make it a higher level the way Football is now great player and very good decision to get him on a 3 year deal .
