What annoys me is that Kinsella is getting criticised for being told what position and role to play by management. So who’s at fault?

Every successful team has midfielders who can contribute to attacking phases of play. Kinsella does not do this in any shape or form.

You’re wrong and are too stubborn to admit it.

Unlike you who is too stubborn to admit that you just have an utter dislike towards Kinsella no matter what he does.

Absolutely, but i do think Bates was over rated from the outset.

I think he will make a decent league two player mind.

I agree @Thanatos. He’s a steady 5 or 6/10 league two midfielder . Can’t fault his energy or work rate and he is consistent.

Can he still improve - yes.

But would he get in any of the promotion chasing teams midfields ? Not sure

Do rate him at full back

No, I have commented many, many times that he has the most heart and desire of pretty much anyone in the side. Look the posts up.

I just see the game for what it is, and we are absolutely dreadful transitioning through the phases.

Liam Kinsella does not work in a 2 man midfield. I can understand the argument for him playing in a 3 man midfield away from home… but when the onus is on us (especially at home!) to break down teams, and play through phases - then it simply does not work. It has not worked for about 4 seasons now.

It’s not rocket science, it’s blatantly obvious. Why would we persist with this?

Let me ask you all a question. Would Liam Kinsella walk into any of the top 7 sides in this division?

We all know the answer to that.

It’s not Liam’s fault, and he’s not a poor player in the sense of effort - but my comments have always been made regards how the team plays. It has not been good enough, and he’s been a big part of that failed midfield. End of story.

To serve that utter drivel up on the back of 2 really decent performances, is a damning indictment to be honest. I like Dutton, and i genuinely really want him to succeed, but even though we managed to score it was 90 mins of pish. Fine, you dust yourselves off at half time, but to continue the same way after half time, blimey.

Unless he pulls 4 wins out the bag for the remaining games, i cant see him being manager next season, actually, i can. We once appointed Jimmy Mullen so nothing would surprise me.

We play best as 433. Just ■■■■■■■ stick to it. 442 doesnt work, neither does this 3 at the back he keeps trying to shoehorn in.

Also, i wouldnt even had minded if he had parked the bus for a point. At least it was aiming for something.

Today was totally inept. Just nothing.

I take on board your comments but it is unfair to judge someone who.has had to play under dire management for best part of 5 seasons.

And yes I believe Kinsella.would be in a top 7 side given the chance.

Liam Kinsella has 1 assist and 1 goal in 140 league appearances.

Does that make you re-think?

DS never tried him at DM which was petty telling, was more pressing on the right side of midfield in those games but again rare starts.

He’s just a very average league 2 player. Can’t see him ever being a regular in team that gets promoted I’m sorry to say.

Central midfield anyway needs someone who’s hungry to score and can do Mantom or Joe Edwards type job of 7-8 goals a season.

Kinsella’s role is to break up play and move the ball to a teammate, which he does perfectly. why slate him for his assists/Goals. Its not his job.

I cant believe all the other midfielders are getting away scot free here.

They’re not. They’re crap.

Sinclair is a bearded Kinsella.

Football has moved on from that. Sorry.

The whole team, most assists from a single player is 4 not really putting kinsella to shame really is it.

Do you think Perry and Kinsella is a midfield pairing that would win promotion?

Absolutely not.

I’d play Perry over Kinsella every day of the week now, and he’s only going to get better the more he plays.

We can then not play Kins next to him as it simply will not work - and it hasn’t worked for 4 whole seasons.

What is the argument here? Are we all happy to have a crap league two side? I want better in there, and I want the midfield to help the team - not for the sake of playing someone who runs around a bit and lays it off to the fullback. Football has moved on, and we haven’t.

Football has “moved on” but your advocating playing 2 midfielders?

The point is we havent been ■■■■ for years because of Kinsella.

We wont get out of this league until someone puts their hand in their pocket for some forwards anyway. All this "solid defence " lark is outdated.

Score goals.
